Can 7.0 focus on a storyline without the philosophizing

I don't really make a habit out of telling people what they can or cannot post in general nor is it really my responsibility to do so in the first place. I'm nobody's father and I'm not a forum moderator either.

Perhaps there's a misunderstanding at play here? I often agree with what people are saying in general and don't really get caught up in the rest of it even if they're being aggressive. If someone gets heated when asking for more customisation options for male characters, for example, then I'm not going to suddenly disagree with their overall point even if they could have worded their post better.

People getting heated on the internet is something that has always happened and will continue to always happen. It is what it is. Tighter moderation and a persistent presence from our community representatives would mitigate the problem and I've made a thread requesting exactly that but it received no official response or acknowledgement so here we are.

Again I can only speak on what was said months ago. It's clear to me as of now your view is different. Much more agreeable imo. I don't see much if anything wrong with what's been stated here.
I know folks (myself included and yourself) have brought up moderation but I have seen concerns of what could happen if it went to far so some are cautious of it. Nt to mention folks outright admitting to abusing it to try and get people (myself included) banned from here. It's a slippery slope unfortunately but all in all I'd say more moderation would be a net positive

Telling the "anti-haters" to go away is how you create an echo chamber. It's also disingenuous at gauging how many people are for or against a particular topic. Even if the "anti-haters" put up bad arguments. You'd still want to gauge how many people might be for or against a particular topic of criticism. They are a necessarily evil even if objectively obnoxious. Also, what you consider lack of substance may be considered substance to somebody else. It's also subjective.

PS: Telling the anti-haters to go away is no different from them telling others to play a different game. It's the same energy.

That's more or less the gist of it. Many times it's not even said politely. Whenever I got told in the past that I was just an Aveyond alt, or my feedback was invalid, or I'm not a professional writer or not part of the SE dev team so I'm not qualified to criticize the MSQ, it was really just different ways of saying 'ur all just haters so go away.' Luckily the folks that say these things don't get to make the rules on these forums, so much to their dismay, I'll continue to post here, lol.

That did not sound like sarcasm to me, and I did read the whole thing. It probably came across that way to me because you have a history of posting passive aggressive statements which create an uncomfortable forum space environment. Maybe you should have mentioned all of this in your original post instead of expecting random people on the internet to know your intentions without falsely interpretating it with accusations. I can hardly blame them for something you could have worded better from the very beginning. It's not other people's job to decipher your sarcasm. At the very least you could have put /s.

Actually, offering criticisms and possible improvements that can be made to FF14 contributes more to the game than attacking the "haters".

Striker: this is the guy that throws epithets like "white knight" shill" "paid shill " "unpaid SE intern" then we have "cease and desist"..so quite frankly, going back over his post history, one intent seems plain and specific: to shut anyone down who dares disagree with him. Were you to be talking to him one on one, he's the kind that will continually talk over the top of you, try to scream you down..you will also notice that in his concerted efforts to do what he projects others are doing, he does all he can to discredit or otherwsise invalidate arguments..in short his post history is a long list of "attack the messenger not the message"

And who exactly derailed this thread into a fight? We were having a nice conversation about the game's storyline before elements like you and Jojoya came in.

Why is it that elements like you always jump into threads like these and start fighting then ask why people are fighting?

I think whenever people need to insist that they're the majority and that any criticism is just coming from 'haters' then it's a surefire sign that they're actually not all that confident that a particular product can actually stand on its own two feet without deceptive attempts to pretend as if absolutely any feedback whatsoever that is negative has no weight or merit to it.

And again, no one has said that, including me. I have said time and again that this tiny band of malcontents is a fraction of a fraction of one percent of the entire playerbase, neither I nor you nor anyone else knows what they like or dont like.

In terms of perspective however, it is a good metric to measure where things stand. That the game is busy and bustling with loads of repeat customer speaks for itself..wouldnt you agree?
