I attacked him?! Oh my goodness well he certainly seems to have understood my intentions. Do you feel better now? And if thats an attack it is nothing like the sort of attack I was chiding him for. Like I said, ppl try way too hard to troll. He seems to get where I'm coming from so I fail to see why you feel the need to pick apart my sentences o.O

Again, I fail to see how I was being an asshole. He allegedly attacked someone (in vivid language according to his account) who did nothing wrong. I then "attacked" him based on the fact that he "attacked" someone else. Still I wasn't an asshole about it at all imo, but ppl will think what they think. He didn't take it the wrong way so I don't see why it matters so much to everyone.

Its a chance to practice, but only if you actually try to improve your class gameplay. You can just as easily faceroll grind to 50 and not learn anything. It depends on the individual in question. I put all my effort into learning my class from lvl 40-50. Yes I got PLed to 40. No I'm not a useless party slot. The difference is I actually *tried*.

You say worthless people are the ones who don't even try. Well you AREN'T trying if you just PL your way through the bulk of your job's levels and never get a feel on how to handle it against mobs of various levels and types. You are introduced slowly to new skills so you have adequate time to test them. Compare them to the rest you posses. Then determine how to use them correctly. Plus the point of leveling up is THE LEVELING UP! I just... I can't explain such a fundamental principle of MMOs. If you don't want to put the effort in then why play an MMO at all? There are plenty of single player RPG's that will give you the same experience if you just want end game content. I can never respect someone who let someone else do all their work for them and only accomplishment is being in the PT while someone else leveled them to cap.

I mean hell woman 40-50 is your 'learning' window?! At 45 you can get to 50 inside of a day. Which is laughable in and off itself. It would take a week maybe two to get from 40-50 and that is not enough time to grasp the job. Just... I can't even talk to you if this is your mindset. Your goals are so foreign to the entire concept of FFXIV as a game that it begs the question why you are even playing at all.

You seem to think learning stops at lvl 50. I'm here to inform you that it doesn't. Even after lvl 50 you can continue to learn by soloing difficult content, farming different mobs, doing dungeon runs, doing primals runs, etc etc. Just because you hit 50 doesn't mean learning stops. You have a rather silly mentality, you act like once you skip lvling its "zomg too late to learn". Its really not.

You are introduced slowly to new skills so you have adequate time to test them. Compare them to the rest you posses. Then determine how to use them correctly.
It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out a skill. This isn't exactly a hard game. And this game relies on the combo system, and you do not get your completed combos until the 40-50 range. That means until then, you are not learning skills as you would use them, and not learning them in the context of having other options available. So things like TP economy, mana economy, cycling, keeping skills on cd...are all things you learn well after learning all the skills you'll be using.

Plus the point of leveling up is THE LEVELING UP! I just... I can't explain such a fundamental principle of MMOs. If you don't want to put the effort in then why play an MMO at all? This would be nice except for the fact that leveling up in FFXIV is terrible...as in boring. FFXI had a great levelling system, because parties really did offer an experience and combat was very engaging. Grinding in FFXIV is just a face roll, especially in a party. I have never found it to be a rewarding experience, just painful. For the record, this is the only game I've ever played that I've been PLed in. Levelling is just crap, you'd almost have to be a masochist to even bother.

As I said, learning continues way after 50. It isn't until 45-50 that you get the full arsenal of your combos and can really begin learning how to cycle them, manage tp/mp, what to use for what situations, how to keep skills on cd, etc etc. Take your 50, go out and solo a bunch of lvl 52 mobs, take one or two at a time, practice on NM spawns, spam Ifrit, there's so much you can do after 50 to learn your class it isn't funny.

Again it doesn't make an ounce of difference how you learn, only that you take the time to learn. Whether you take it after 40, or start from lvl 1, all that really matters is you learn and apply yourself to learning. Most of the learning doesnt really begin til 40+ anyway. You learned your class piecemeal, I decided to tackle it all at once. At the end of the day we both still learn the material.

    Like seriously.

I've intentionally screwed up several EXP groups (as BLM, too), and the exp was still just fine. It's retarded how bad you have to screw up intentionally to slow the exp down; EXPing whether solo or in a party is absolutely the easiest thing in the game at this point - hands down.

Sorry but this is flat out wrong. Like 90% of the game's "fun" content right now is not in grinding, or the leveling. Guess where ALL the primal fights/dungeons/open-area dungeons are? Levels 40+. Do you know how boring it is grinding to level 40? It's horrible. There's one or two low-level dungeons, but there are barely any sub-40's on servers. Do a quick search on your server. Last time I checked, there were more level 50's on Gungnir than there were of all other levels combined. So on top of all the content being at level 40+, there's hardly anyone 40- to party with to do the little content there is :/

Wait, what? Really? Man, I need to hang out in Ul'dah more often. I've seen people shouting to get XP groups together but I've never seen people shout that they want to pay for PLing. That's hilarious and kind of depressing at the same time. Though, I guess I shouldn't really judge.

Humm, in a fair way, yes. I have seen people pay to activate an account and the guy with the activated account plvl him as a means of paying for the service. Nothing wrong with that. Rich people are lazy anyway lol.
