I never expect much from seasonal events. I enjoy what little story it gives us. But it qould be nice if past event rewards and mini games were brought back so you have more things to actually do during the event.
Also, hi Titanmen!![]()

What, pray tell, did we learn exactly that was in any way interesting?
We learned that the Gold Saucer was constructed after the calamity to bring people joy. As if that wasn't obvious already?
We learned that Godbert cares about his employees, as if they haven't already shoehorned that aspect of him to the players during his conversation with Nanamo?
And we learned that apparently, Mt. Corel exists in some form, and that's probably about the only bit of new information we got, which will almost assuredly never be talked about ever again.
Dealing with bad-faith forum posters who tell you to quit or say your concern is in the minority:Be firm but polite, recognize their tactics and don't fall into their traps.
- Do not engage in their bad-faith attacks.
- Warn others of their bad-faith if they have a long history of it.
- Continue the productive conversation and silently report them for personal attacks.
Content is not just for people who have done everything.
its a seasonal micro holiday to help us farm mgp for cosmetics, and you get a free pet..What is the point of wasting 10 minutes of my time with that quest? The quest wasn't humorous, wasn't dramatic, wasn't interesting, and was so forgettable I already forgot the details after an hour. There's one thing I remember though: credit where it's due, the quest literally felt as boring as writing a high school English class journalist report assignment, so you nailed that part, SE.
(PS: If you haven't done the quest yet, I would highly encourage you to skip the cutscenes. There's no humor, no lore, no drama. Nothing really happened.)
lay off the drama shakespeare.
Can we even call this year's Make It Rain campaign content though? (●´・×・`●)?
All it was was Godbert talking himself up. They didn't even bother to put on his serious-pants™ like when he made an appearance during the MSQ. (●´ω`●)ゞ
Mere gacha games have more story and content in their holiday events than this game. Granblue Fantasy for example and that is a browser gacha, which is very telling.
I mean you can tell that seasonal events from previous years had more heart and soul put into it:
From the Idol voting event to the valentines match up event.
Even make it rain had a fun crime scene event once - this one just feels like 5mins of effort slapped onto the game and went back to their ff16 baby... Let's hope it gets better from now on
As I said in another thread, this game is lacking midcore content severely. It's either full on casual or hardcore all the way. I see it with a crying and smiling eye, because this game could be so much more, but at the same time in another universe I wouldn't be able to let go of this game and play other games (praise the man) if it was that full of content probably. It is somewhat exagerated and probably cope but that is how I look at it.I just need FF14 to get their stuff together. EW patches have been sort of lacking, only a few good seasonal quests, idgaf about "Island SAnCTUary". Boring as ever, literally the 1 rare thing they could've done was make criterion and variant dungeons worth replaying for rewards and they STILL...STILL couldn't even do that. What the heck am I paying a sub for at this point, a graphic novel. Where's the max level combat that ISNT A SAVAGE RAID? Where's the feeling of openness within the "Open" world. Why must I be drip fed predictable unexciting "safe" content in a formula so stale. Wtf even is the new patch story? Like...I can't even. 7.0 better be something because at this point. I cant.
I don’t think you are paying attention to the context of the story or the characters and setting involved. Those are his business pants.
I’m not sure what you people expect from seasonal events. They are small stories mostly about average people in the world and what they do during these events. Make it Rain is a promotion for a business. What do you expect when you visit Sears during a sale? They vary in complexity and most of the time this is one of the simpler events.
I think people expect a game with a subscription model that has been made by a big corp to have seasonal events that has much more than just a short story. Events should not be completed within a day or even less than 30 or 15 or 15 or even 5 minutes.
Shouldn't games with a subscription model make events bigger than the last? There has been events in the past that were much bigger and better than what we got now.
I have already mentioned that Gacha Games make seasonal and holiday events that had much deeper story and bigger content than what XIV has lazily tossing at us lately.
I don't like Gacha Games that much but damn if Gacha Games are starting to make better side content and actually putting effort in making deep story and content in small seasonal and holiday events than a big multi-dollar corp game then wtf?
