Happy filthy whale reporting in. I bought the outfit as soon as I realized it was there today because I love the look, the pieces, and it fits great on one of my characters.

There has been few items which i like in the store, and those that i like..i buy!
It's actually cheaper for me to play this MMO and spend a bit of extra cash on it..
- Than if i where to buy singel player-games ( which cost around 50-90 euro) and will only last 2 months max.

The thing is, with my previous thoughts on this matter in mind (as per previous replies), I don't think buying a few items makes us "whales".
I mean - I, for one, certainly don't use Mogstation all that frequently. I just make an occasional purchase if they introduce something I really like the look of.
I know some demonstrably don't like 'whataboutism' but... well, tough. In my opinion, a Whale isn't someone who makes the occasional, fixed price, purchase of a specific item from an in-game store. My view is that whale is someone who buys 20 lootboxes, opens them all, wins nothing of note and therefore opens another 20.... and keeps repeating that cycle until they win what they want. Or, as per the game I used to play, buys a £200 bundle of in-game items even though it's blatantly obvious that the company bloated the bundle with a stack of fluff to justify increasing the price.

I should add that while the outfit does not hide tails, it does hide Miqo'te ears – which is standard at this point but still disappointing when it happens. I would love to get more hats that let the ears show through them. They've already got the setup to do it from back in ARR but they never use it any more.

It looks nice, but I'm not in love. My wallet is safe!

The annoying thing with this is that the game has had havok physics implemented to do just this since launch.I would not mind capes so much if they had realistic physics applied to them. Instead, we have pseudo-physics and everything clips with them.
Maybe it's just me; but, isn't this glam set just another "A Frame" design like a lot of gear already in the game? I don't see anything which would entice me to purchase this gear.
Considerations would almost certainly need to be made to ensure performance doesn't tank in busy areas but with how far modern CPUs have come along since 2.0, there's really no excuse beyond flat out being unwilling to put in the work.

Funny thing about that, Odin's armor actually had a cape with what looks like functional havok physics. They scrapped the idea at some point during ARR's development but it's still in the files. The annoying thing with this is that the game has had havok physics implemented to do just this since launch.

Even if someone bought every single item on the MogShop, it would come to a fraction of the cost I have spent on other MMOs and their far more expansive shops (like ESOs). So I have a hard time considering anyone a whale in XIV.

It looks okay, but in my personal opinion it's not worth the price. Maybe I am going to buy it with a sale, but not full prize. It's just not detailed enough to be a mogshop set imo.
Honestly I thought this set could be the new Variant Dungeon reward. I was disappointed to see this in the mogshop now.
And I saw another interesting set on YouTube. The Magitek set. I guess it's from Korea but I am not sure about that. I hoped we get it soon, too. But now they released something else in the shop. So I am afraid it will take much longer until we get the Magitek set in the shop. I save my money for this one. : D
