My issue with the people who call for things to be copied from FFXI is the tunnel vision. FFXI did some stuff right and some stuff wrong. Instead of copying what they did right, they should be taking what was done right, seeing why it works well, and then improving on it rather than just blindly trying to copy it.

There's ALWAYS room for improvement.

this i completely agree with. i don't care what game it's from either so it doesn't have to be just xi. if they can take any good stuff from other games and improve it and make it to where it works in xiv i am happy with it. i loved alot of the original concepts, but even those could have been improved upon big time.

I find it funny how offended the XI fanboys get in this thread and how they claim nobody asked for XIV to be XI-2. Yet doing a simple search in this forum i can quote hundred of posts of pple asking S-E to turn this into XI-2 and how successful the game would be if they took everything from XI and put it in here. "S-E would get 100k subs right there if they made this like XI" Yeah right, so you think S-E should forget about getting this game into the mill of subs and settle for the hardcore XI fans they already got? Wow...

Anyways keep talking and keep begging fanboys, it's been over a year and Yoshi-P is still ignoring you guys... juts look at the 2.0 material we got so far, couldn't be further away from XI.

It's funny you say this when they straight imported the naming conventions from FFXI into FFXIV. By the way, you better hope Hamlet defense isn't setup like Campaign OPs or Besieged or you may end up killing yourself.

dont forget the auto attack that was in ffxi that would NEVER be added by Yoshi because its too much like xi! It must have been approved while he wasn't looking!
