There does not exist a single timeline where I won't start any game on hard mode if given the option.

This is the moment. when someone would joke that you may as well do as your signature is emoting.

It all can be broken down more and more.

The end result is people actively arguing over something they should of learned by now and understood as part of the series.

Or if anything, Learned that not all games or studios/companies will ever do the same.

This is but a minor thing to get twisted over.

While it would be grand for the foolish masochist, and the actual players who can handle it, which largely aren't going to complain about things they can't change instantly.

There is nothing to do, but to slog through.
XVI is a SP game, may as well go find where you can kindly ask the devs for a Unlock.

Personally, if there was a start from 0 option I would. [But unlike most, I'm relentless on struggles I chose to subscribe to.]
(But that basically leads you to the give or takes people do, which leads to cursing wishes. Which is that save has no return to lesser difficulty. Which is already a thing for "Final Fantasy" Mode. so no choice but to go through it.)

Everyone Knows what a Final Fantasy title contains, which tend to be the story, and the basic concepts or abstract ideas that define it, outside it's malleable concepts like gameplay or its world.

Maybe in the next FF Title, they'll improve, and give the masochists the option.[As those who can handle it with ease are far fewer, and wouldn't be fased by the lack of option First Run]

But unless you decide to not ask the devs directly in outlets made for the XVI devs, instead of largely arguing with people who understand your view(yet know why it won't come as easy as your complaints) or those who won't give you the time of day, Then you'll never get what you want.

[To all those who want it unlocked, which isn't a Market Standard. But a nice have for those who like to go in untrained. This ain't a DMC or adjacent anyways.]
