Well, since the Mystic Knight is always represented by a arab swordsman (or in case of FFXI a fancy Dark Knight) I think curved blades would be more accurate.

I'd not mind either versions tbh. Whether it's FF5 Mystic Knight or FF11 Rune fencer, both are cool!

I might be reading too into it, but I am almost certain they were joking about the fact that Spellblade in FFT:A2 is literally just Red Mage but melee.

And as someone who still to this day plays the game regularly(currently doing an all Blue Mage Run with a Luso named..Bluso), it seriously is just Melee Red Mage with a Blue coat

Yep. I want a Mystic Knight enspeller spellsword melee tank, where I imagine their rotation has them playing very similar to SAM in that they build up Enfire, Enblizzard and Enthunder charges then unleash them all into one big attack.
