Actually no because why would you do that when there are many 9, 10 games to play. Including previous FFs.IGN rating system:
10 - Masterpiece ("There’s no such thing as a truly perfect game, but those that earn a Masterpiece label from IGN come as close as we could reasonably hope for.")
9 - Amazing ("We enthusiastically recommend that you add these games to your to-play list.")
8 - Great ("These games leave us with something outstanding to remember them by")
7 - Good ("Playing a Good game is time well spent. ")
6 - Okay
5 - Mediocre
4 - Bad
3 - Awful
2 - Painful
1 - Unbearable
So in other words, you still recommend playing FFXVI to everyone.
I really dont think we as FFXIV players have any right to talk about player retention, FFXIV easily has one of the worst player retention, and with the 1 year or so content lull coming aside from the BLU stuff and criterion, there will be a gigantic drop in subs.Shadowlands, that got a bump due COVID lockdown, saw the biggest drop off after launch (and a massive drop in player retention) and most of those players didn't return for Dragonflight. Blizzard even admitted that Dragonflight (despite frantically trying to fix everything that was hated in Shadowlands) numbers failed to meet expectations, and that numbers were much lower than what they wanted.
Course, that would require you having played Shadowlands and paid attention to how the player base reacted to it for you to understand it.

Keep up the mental gymnastics![]()
my review of ff16: its not on steam yet
10 thumbs down
lol
as a player who stopped in cataclusm, i like the shadow lands, torgast was my favorite. the overall punishment formula of wow was still there however, where if you miss a week of raid or arena points, you might as well just sit out the whole season. after the first week of castle dracula or whatever, people were already demanding AOTC and 210+ for NORMAL raids.. lol.. goofballs.Shadowlands, that got a bump due COVID lockdown, saw the biggest drop off after launch (and a massive drop in player retention) and most of those players didn't return for Dragonflight. not in final fantasy though its easy to find a noob group for a savage here.
what a fun game
It is funny seeing anyone think that Shadowlands was a success. It has done so much harm to WoW that it even pushed its top streamers to FF14 and the biggest WoW Streamer, Asmongold, no longer focuses a lot of time on WoW anymore and used FF14 as the correct time to expand beyond the WoW IP. Not to mention all the popular (hundreds of thousands of views) vids about what went wrong with Shadowlands and that viewership numbers for all WoW content is massively down.
There's a reason that every unpopular big mechanic/change that was in BFA/SL aren't in Dragonflight at all.
Oh i see your reading comprehension is just bad. How can you be so confident writing paragraph after paragraph while you didnt even understand the initial comment? It is funny seeing anyone think that Shadowlands was a success. I get it. You see FF14 as bad and think Shadowlands is the pinnacle of MMO gaming despite all facts going against that. What a little rebel you are.
Please take the time to read the initial comment i made before you further embarass yourself with the reading skills of a toddler.
I do this crazy thing. I ignore reviews. Do you know why? Reviews are meaningless. The only review that matters is my review. FFXVI is absolutely amazing. I have enjoyed every minute of it.https://www.ign.com/articles/final-fantasy-16-review
"RPG elements feel a little underdeveloped"
"Status ailments are basically completely absent"
"there’s no real system of elemental strengths or weaknesses very little in the realm of buffs and debuffs"
"loot seems like an afterthought"
"I never once felt incentivized to explore either the corners of the linear main levels, or the more open fields of the interconnected overworlds."
Much like modern FF14, FF16 dazzles and bedazzles, but it is all style, no substance. Much like modern FF14, FF16 uses its story to cover up its uninteresting RPG systems.
