Can we just let him like the game and not start stupid nonsense just because...yes, he came back to the forums after saying he wouldn't be coming back...or something...whatever. Doesn't matter, there just doesn't need to be nonsensical Drama.

Aveyond's writing style is Aveyond's worst enemy and that's what causes the drama. Some of us open the thread because we want to see which way the drama is going to go this time.

Look at the title of the thread.

Aveyond is not management at SE and so is not in the position to judge how well CBU3 is or isn't doing their job. They do not know the whole of what happens in CBU3 behind the scenes and so cannot offer a holistic critique. All they, or any of us as consumers, can do is offer opinions about the products created or services offered.

So we're already off to a bad start just with the thread title.

Aveyond announcing they've decided that this is the best place to give feedback about CBU3 is an immediate sign they're here for the attention. This most definitely is not the best place to give feedback about CBU3. If you want to give feedback about interactions with employees of a company, you do that through the Contact US feature every Corporation has on their Corporate website. You don't do it in the forums intended for discussion of a specific game.

If Aveyond's intent is to just say "I'm enjoying FFXVI", they could have done it by replying in one of the other FFXVI related threads that were already started. Instead Aveyond as usual had to start their own thread because it's beneath them to add their own comments to a thread someone else started. All attention must be on Aveyond.

If they wanted to say I'm enjoying this feature in FFXVI and wish that it would be done this way in FFXIV as well, they should have titled the thread completely differently and removed their opening pontification paragraph.

In the meanwhile, I have no clue what Aveyond has actually said because I couldn't get past their typical arrogant first sentence. If they're enjoying FFXVI as others have evidently filtered down their entire post as trying to say, great. More posters around here would benefit from trying out and playing other games instead of moaning about how FFXIV isn't what they want.

If you're genuinely interested in avoiding pointless drama, an Aveyond thread is not the place to go. Drama is the goal.

As for the people bitching about Aveyond being back before 7.0, why complain about something every forum regular knew was going to happen because Aveyond has said almost the exact same thing in each of their long winded topics for the past couple of years?

I'm glad that you're enjoying it. I am too. It's not perfect but it does a lot of things right - particularly character and world design. At this point, I'm hoping that at least some of the developers working on FFXVI return to the FFXIV team and give us at least one more expansion in the 'classic fantasy' style.

I actually MET two members of a world first guild on my server, they were quiet, self effacing and when congratulated on their efforts, demurred and said it was a team effort. Lovely people who were more than willing to answer a few questions and offered some pointers on my class.

I mean I’ve put in must be close to the 20 hour mark, I’m enjoying the story the world and characters. I like combat when it’s on bosses or mid bosses less so on mobs they just get melted but combo smashing them feels good. Side quests are indeed barebones but they’ve never bothered me because yes the Witcher has more fleshed out side quests for example they still feature the same systems 16 does (go here, kill that, follow trail) it’s just that game disguised it under more flavour text and interaction.

I can imagine a lot of the team can come off now back to 14 because you don’t need a whole team to make it run on a pc, you have a smaller group that works purely to the port and any patches that the game needs console wise. But then that would have happened already like team structure wise.

While it’s nice the OP is enjoying something it didn’t feel wise to post it here and maybe more the 16 Reddit or something because it completely goes against the narrative they created when leaving back in 6.3 was it? I do sort of wish the next expansion goes into the more high fantasy route and is a bit more maturer in its themes cause 16 for my experience so far has seemingly managed to dip its toes in without being super on the nose about it.

Also we need cids voice actor in 14 as someone that is a voice of gold haha
