I've been hearing a lot of good things about FFXVI, so I'll probably pick it up and give it a try once it gets a PC port. Glad to hear you're enjoying it though, gives me something to look forward to.

It's more like walking into an Italian restaurant that you don't go to anymore but is owned by the same person that runs a Greek restaurant that you really like, telling the owner that you really liked his Greek restaurant after you started going there, and that you wish that certain aspects of it could be implemented into the Italian one.

At which point, said owner will quietly and emphatically tell you that when he wants, or needs, your opinion, he will ask you for it...or if he has that many issues, he can go open his own restaurant and see how that goes.

Bad analogy, mate, in case it had escaped you, no business owner anywhere likes it when someone he doesnt know or care for has the chutzpah to tell him how to run his business.

And both said owner and SE have the right to do so when receiving feedback. It's not as good of a business strategy as simply nodding and letting the feedback go in one ear and out the other (or dare I say, actually listening to it), but they can respond that way if they want to. My analogy is still closer to what this thread is, whatever response SE has to this thread has nothing to do with that.

I'm about 30 hours in and its very a very meh 7/10. The story is not horrible, but not great either, and the combat is absolutely braindead. I was hoping that since the DMC guy was on board we'd get DMC heavy combat, but instead its just mash buttons. There's basically no combo system and you spend most of your time doing the flame dash since nearly every finisher you do sends an enemy flying. May as well use the trinket that does the "combos" for you.

Taking it from another viewpoint, said feedback that "No one is happy and all your customers are unhappy and want you to do x and y"....looking over a busy and bustling restaurant, with loads of people going in and out, said owner will do little else but laugh hysterically and go back to work.

Thats this game, in case it hadnt occurred to you. Busy, bustling, happy, loads of customers who do NOT share the at times nihilistic, negative, miserable, nitpicking and outright fwe that passes for "feedback" here.

Said owner has a highly successful, profitable and incredibly popular business that has seen explosive growth over the last two years ,will continue to do so for a very long time.

Id say the owner knows what they are doing just fine. Wouldnt you say?

If anyone, including you, is of the belief that what is said here is in any way representative of the wider playerbase..it aint.

From the mouth of Yoshi P himself. Your mindset is the one that nearly killed WoW. You'd think you'd know that, considering how much irrational hatred you have for that game.

The point is, the mere fact that Aveyond even bothered to come back and post this shows that he wants the game to get out of the rut that it's in and improve, even if he can no longer stand playing it himself.

The hysterically funny part of that statement is that you literally have NO idea who i was, what my username was, or that I had vociferously and repeatedly tried to warn them about screwups that were going to blow up in their faces..and when it did just that, I said again and again how it could have been avoided.

One of these days, if you want the full story, come see me sometime. I say that knowing you never will, because it suits your agenda better to assume you know already.

Actually, it got to the point one day when I realised the only reason i stayed was sunk cost, and I quit. You are again assuming you know anything about me.

Probably. This place is a bit of a cesspit because this is where all the people disgruntled and upset with the game come to vent their frustrations, attack the game, attack the devs, attack anyone that doesn't hate the game as much as they do, try to run off anyone making positive posts, and then insist that they represent a clear majority and are merely offering "critiques on the game because (they) want it to be better", and think they represent a majority despite all metrics of the playerbase suggesting they're at odds and hold opposite views to the playerbase at large.

It's where people that are angry try to lash out at anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with them, and then try to say no one views the game positively (because they run off and attack everyone who does and call them names like "white knights", even when said people are offering their own critiques), to try and validate their own views, which most people happily playing the game seem not to share.

Id call this a definitive description, actually, wish Id said it.

How to out yourself as a terminally online basement dweller. Contrary to the regularly-meltdown having twitter crowd, many people are able to take criticism, especially in a professional envoirment. If you give a chef feedback on their food, theyll appreciate it.

Funny you call WoW a dogs breakfast, because a FF14 content patch has as much content as a dogs breakfast and is consumed just as quickly. Well, for people that actually do content that is. Not for you ofcourse who spends all their time in the forums telling people everything is perfect.

1) Nearly every time I've ever tried to interact with you in a polite manner, I've gotten an angry explosive rant as a response.

2) I have enough of the story just from what you've already told said here. I don't need your entire history to understand what you've said here.

Exactly. Chefs that ignore feedback stagnate and their food will suffer for it. The same applies to nearly every other field too.
