It is because most of the people don't realize what exactly makes blm a hard job, and it's not the rotation which in fact is one of the easiest. Blm is a hard job because the mastery of the encounter impacts your performance way, way more than any other job, because even though is a simple rotation, it requires a good amount of precision, and for example, being on the move without casting your Fire IV for a couple of seconds could cost your Astral Fire. Besides, 2 stacks of Triplecast and one Swift helps little to correct rotational mistakes, because you can't use them all the time, and the proper application comes also with mastery of the encounter and knowing where in the fight script you should use them.

All and all, what makes blm a hard job is not that bad, though. You only need to be at the top of your dps game when you get to see the enrage, and if you're that far, is very likely that you already mastered a good portion of the encounter mechanics, and thus, mastered blm as a whole for that fight.

I have to contest this, lol. Dancers gets extremely shafted when it comes to the glamouring department.

Aside from their Artifact Sets, which are really beautiful, every singe time we get a new dungeon or armor collection, I'm never excited as a Dancer, because rarely it's a fit. And I'm not even asking for that Thavnairian feel to the gear, but more on the practical side of things. Aiming sets are often too bulky and makes really hard to picture a dancer wearing that for combat.

Scouting on the other hand... they always get sets really fitting a Dancer.

Truth! Most recent case in point, look at the current high tome gear: Scouting would look so nice on DNC! *cries* The Aiming sets seem to cater to MCH most of all. Really hoping this Scouting piece gets reused in another set so that DNC can wear someday!

Yeah - to be fair, it was those sets I was primarily referring to (though I apologise for not being clear on that!)

    And regardless of new sets, I pretty much only use two, Glamoured over the new items;
Artifact set with a minior adjustment:

And the level 89 Etoile set with minor variations:

80 and 90 dancer sets are great - love how much different the 80 set is for male and female. There are some veils I would have liked that scouts get though.

Personally, I think majority of melees (sans DRG) are boring because they are linear and keeping uptime/positionals are non-factors anymore. And BRD absolutely smokes every single job in this game on rotational complexity. There is a reason that very few people play it anymore - it's very, very difficult for little reward. It is a cursed job.

BRD needs absolutely nothing in its current iteration to have the DMG bumped up. DNC could use more incentives to DP swap outside of ultimates. MCH genuinely needs its 123 to replaced with Blast Shot (and melee Chainsaw - I will die on this hill) to have it become the least mobile class in the game and difficult to opti which is reason enough to put it up with SAM/BLM levels of DMG.

And this thought is not directed to you, but just in general... I hate the idea that because a job is in the phys ranged category it has to fill this precise niche of full mobility and utility. Caster has shown that this doesn't have to be the case, so I don't know why people - devs and playerbase both - are so dedicated to keeping melee and phys ranged homogenized and rigid.

Anyways... DNC is fun. I like to optimize it. I really dislike the aesthetic though. I think it looks bad on males (my main).

In 7.0, I could see Bard losing one and or both of its dots in favor of new skills. Removing one dot and Iron Jaws frees up button space for more complex things. Blast Shot just feels like a bad excuse to have 2 charges of Apex Arrow while still feeling like Bard got something new at all.

Since the start of this game, Bard is the one job that changes the most.

On the topic of Dancer. I like the job but there are times I wish I didn't have to do the dance steps. Yeah, I know it's the identity of the job and all that, but I just find the dance steps for tech step to be rather intrusive. Especially if you have a 2min buff window during mechanically heavy moments.

I agree. I don't dislike the idea of dots as a mechanic, but they are completely mindless now, which kind of defeats the idea of dots in the first place - which is the babysit playstyle. Also the dots no longer proc'ing anything also devaluates them by a LOT.

If they get to keep them, they must integrate them with something else, or else better let them go and put something more engaging instead.

for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
