FFXIV wasn't intended for casualgamers. It was intended for both casual gamers and those of us who want a game we need to commit a little more to. I'm staggered that SE didn't realise that making an FF mmo would mostly attract people who played and liked their last mmo. Giving us elements similar to the ones that were successful in xi will make those players happy, and if they want the game to be a success then making the current playerbase happy is the best thing they could do. We after all will be the ones doing a lot of the advertising for version 2.0
I've said it before and I'll no doubt say it again. SE should be trying to please the playerbase it has rather than the player base it wanted or expected but didnt get.
