Well I didn't mean it like that.

But if we are being realistic epeen does play a big roll in these types of games.

It's not much different in how you see casuals and how they ruining your precious game, which was never intended for hardcore old school players to begin with.

Yea I don't want a second job, if that's all the same.

MMO's have evolved the way they have for a reason, you can blame it on WoW or you can be realistic and realise that the masses do not want to be tied to a game 4-5 hours every evening to make any kind of progress.

If people want to play a "single player game" online then so be it, who are you to tell them otherwise.

Here I was being nice towards one of your posts and see how I'm repaid lol XD
What you have to understand is that a lot of the potential FFXIV players are FFXI vets. Most of these people want a game similar to XI in that they want challenging, full scale content that requires a good deal of effort to get to and complete.
I, personally, do not like the whole dungeon idea. I want things like: Gather pop totems for the gods that cause a king of gods to pop in a certain area.

Or, Uldah has been overrun with Emperial forces, repel them (actual enemies please. None of this caravan crap.)

Hmm...other ideas.......Ah, open world areas that require playing through a chain of quests and acquiring story to actually get to. I joined "market" FFXIV 2 days after it was released due to the server constantly being down on release. When I got in, one of the first things I did was run to every area possible and get all of the teleports. I shouldn't be able to do this. There should be areas that I can't get to without fulfilling certain requirements (and no SE, I don't consider current level to be a requirement)

I can appreciate that, I'm an Ex FF11 player also, I'm just trying to keep an open mind and not be stuck in the past.

I totally agree that this game is missing quest chains, but with the way every resource is being funneled into 2.0 the main story has been put on hold til then, Yoshida said that he plans to pick up the story from the last mission at lvl 46 (hopefully it will require party based combat and not be solo orientated)

I think the job quests were a good example of what to expect, if you do them at the correct level they are quite challenging, aren't completed in a day and require a party in most cases.

What we are missing in this game and have said this several times in level caps, if all the job content had level caps then it would have been a lot more challenging.

Or, Uldah has been overrun with Emperial forces, repel them (actual enemies please. None of this caravan crap.)
Can you imagine the crashes we would get with such a scenario ? (don't' worry I'm being sarcastic)

"I wasn't being rude or aggressive"...lol. As I said before, FFXIV was designed for the casual market so I don't see how this fits with what my perception of the game being ruined? You don't even know what my perception is beyond that SE failed to recapture something they've did in the past with Two MMORPGS, both successful and FFXIV ending up being a mess when they could have easily avoided it.

    That's my perception.

Actually, server crashes would be a thing for content such as that, but I feel that is something SE needs to work on. At the same time, though, I would absolutely LOVE to see something such as the Uldah raid mentioned above.

Imagine: Everyone relaxing in uldah, suddenly, a horn blows and Uldah NPCs start running to their rooms while the Uldah guards ready their weapons. Empire forces begin flooding into the city in waves. The first wave is small, probably levels 30-40. The second wave is slightly larger, with levels around 35-45 with siege weapons. The third wave could consist of levels 50-55. The 4th wave could consist of levels 55-60 enemies, with siege weapons and a "boss" at the end of the wave who has the ability to summon "reinforcements" to aid him as he attempts to control the city.

This would, of course, require the ability to make alliances with other parties, but something like this is what I want to see.

Well I'm hoping that Halmet defence is kind of like this, waves of enemies but mainly based on the level of the hamlet so that all levels can be involved.

I agree that it would be cool to see this done in Ul'dah similar to besiged but yea they would need to fix Ul'dah first, I used to love fighting in Windurst-S also so something like that would be good as well.

They are planning front lines in the future as well which looks interesting, It's just a matter of time and patience and these things will come.
