I've just gotten bored with all of the low-effort trolls. So much dull spam clogging up the front pages of the forum, or necro bumping old threads. And since there's no consequences, they keep doing it. It's like watching children running around a store screaming their heads off while their parents ignore them.

The worst part is they're not even trying to be funny or clever about it. All they have is spam. It's so boring.

I think they should start banning IP addresses tbh. make the trolls work for what they want, you know what I'm saying? don't make it easy for them to come back. make them sweat and make them dish out big $$$ if they want to keep their circus alive and kicking!

IP bans are not as effective as you'd think.

Most people running through an ISP are on a dynamic IP address rather than a static address. Meaning that one could reset their router for a couple of hours-- Even a couple of minutes, and you'd likely be assigned a new IP - With this now banned IP getting assigned to someone else down the line. Further to this, if you're accessing the game or a forum through an org, be it a university dorm, or whatever, then that ban by proxy would cover a lot more users than intended.

IMO, you'd be best just tying forum bans to the actual game service. So any sanctions you're issued on the forum would carry to in-game, and vice versa with bans in-game. - It would simmer a lot of people down.

Ah, you're right! I didn't think about that. I wouldn't feel right having innocents punished alongside the trolls. I agree that the game services should be banned instead.

While I don't necessarily agree that a forum ban should automatically result in a game ban, I definitely would support it in the case of repetitive offenders.

I encourage it too but please do it right, why delete a thread but not ban the person that made the thread?

It's not always the original poster that's trolling (though I imagine I know who you're thinking about and the threads they create). Trolls will enter into constructive threads to disrupt things as well.

Someone is paying for their accounts even if they aren't personally. Players without active subscriptions (or recently very expired subscriptions) are only able to post in the New Player Help subforum as far as I can recall.

It would be nice if that limitation extended to players taking advantage of the free login campaigns as well. There are a few names that only seem to pop back up when those are active.

you know this, I know this, everyone else knows this.. but.. we are all called "paypigs" because we subscribe.

they say it often enough and either they are SE employees, which I doubt, or operate stolen accounts, which I also doubt since those dry up...

of course the most likely answer is they RMT, so while they are "paying" they are using RMT generated funds to do so, and in their mind, that makes them smarter than us "paypigs"

The mass reporting does seem to work within 24 hours. The fact we've not seen certain people yet today might mean a ban has finally happened.

If thats the case we just need to do it to the alts too. No more participating...just a report and move on in silence. I know I keep saying it and then don't but now that action does seem to be working in one degree or another...that is exactly what I'm doing.

The ban just might only be a 10 day ban so be ready for certain people to come back. But if it was a real ban then this is good news.

The "real" bans are so few and far between, especially when it's on accounts that are known to be connected(can't tell me when reading 90% of the troll threads that they aren't the same deranged individual posting on different accounts....which honestly should be against the ToS as it's circumventing following them, resulting in the banning of all linked accounts - and any account that may be using the same payment method whether for Crysta or direct payment)

So what discord server do you have that I see get mentioned? Is it a small tight-knit community or something for the game?

Also just check where 3 particular people have necro'd threads....like poor guy is trying to make a point of relevancy.
