    The FFXIV team mostly has to figure out how to not create so many deviant pieces of content that are just the same content over and over again. If something is just a dungeon with special rewards it really doesn't matter if someone slaps special skills onto the plate: its a dungeon. The reason Bazja and Eureka were different is that the entire place was about breaking the mold of the main game class system. We got back old skills that could be comboed with jobs in certain roles so they could cover other roles, and it allowed for a lot of mix and matching.

    People want mythic dungeons from what it sounds like, which is more like a beefier version of the existing dungeons we can do in roulette. No idea how they are going to get that to work, but that is the vision vs what we ultimately received.

    Also there still is the big issue of having all of ones effort being rendered worthless with the coming of the next big thing. Nothing someone does matters in Savage because the proof of completing the savage tier becomes easily obtainable and there is no special title or anything to mark that a player has completed a tier while it is current. All the effort someone may have put into PoTD back when it came out is pointless because it doesn't apply to any other deep dungeon. They just reset the progress button every single time which is a major component to why the later ones are worse than the first one.

    Oh dude, it is going to take more than luck. I have so many mixed feelings on everything right now. Even the jobs technically getting simpler is a good thing, but they aren't taking advantage of the simplification to do anything interesting. I was hoping that simplifying jobs would make it easier to play multiple roles in savage, but it takes so much time to fully learn the dance in one role that it made almost no difference. Not to mention the way the game is built as of patch 6.35, it is heavily reminding me of late World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King style raiding where we got an entire spread of people with different time commitment capabilities trying to do high end content just to fill time. After being on Aether and seeing what the savage raiding is like I'm surprised there is a scene at all.

    Lol these days half of the savage fights are just remixes of old savage fights than anything actually new

    Anything to change up the current: pull three groups into wall > boss > repeat.

    And SE created their own demise. When the boss has to be middle for every mech (or is a wall boss), when the hitbox has to be big, and when the boss needs to be "barse-able" in any group, you run out of ideas pretty quickly. The unique ideas will be few and far between.

    They dont have to make fights parsable. P3s exists and raiders have simply decided to ignore the add phase for logs. 0 regard needs to be spend on parsability from raid designers, raiders can and should figure that one out by themselves.

    That was a logs decision because technically to go for big numbers you had to do a more coordinated aoe dump on the adds before moving them to their spots, which requires a skilled and willing group to do it. I was referring more to like a Hydaelyn type adds phase where its actually better for some classes to hit the adds on the tanks instead of the crystals (which is actively "griefing" the party). You rarely ever see a fight like that, and definitely not recently.

    Ultimates have and always will "break the mold" so to speak, though even EW ultimates they've shown they have their limits on how creative they'll get with boss design. Those also only come out maximum twice an expansion while there are 12 savage fights and several Extremes per expac.
