Augmented Hellhound Weapons are not worth stress

Honestly I find it sad. When they started with the Archfiend set I thought a good idea would be to have a recolour of it available in Ranked play (like replacing the red glows with light blue) and wouldve been a nice dynamic that everyone gets one cool armour while those fighting for it would get another variant. Wolrd of Warcraft used to do this when friends who came from it told me about it, I thought that was cool as hell.

difference in wow was the gear actually had power, not just for show, literally worst mmo pvp of all of them. this would be the best but the delay is pretty bad unfortunately.

Things that came after the overhaul:
- Battle pass
- Trophy Crystal Shop (essentially shop extension)
- 5v5 role-agnostic queue (i.e. no role restrictions)
- role overhaul to be less same-y and individual job performance being vastly different, especially Limit Break
- moving healing and mitigation responsibility largely to the individual being attacked rather than healers / tanks

The reward side of thing was something long expected anyhow, the other three made agonizing queue times go away and actually made Casual PvP even pop in the first place. Role queue was what defined Feast era but also broke it. Neither of this would change back if Ranked would get armour rewards again.

id rather not have that again, sure you can have your small stuff but too much you're gonna break the balance.

I just want to mention there's many rewards in this game that many players will never get
hunt rewards are incredibly long grinds that are basically the same as hellhound weapons because the majority of players will never even attempt to kill thousands of s ranks
there's nothing wrong with the hellhound weapon glows

This is the compiled list of all 20 seasons of Feast rewards which started at around Patch 3.2, with mounts and all recolours included (recolours are marked yellow).



This is the list if we went down to armours only. If you were to only count unique sets, we'd be down to 6. With recolours, we'd be at 11.



This is the item categories purchasable for Wolf Marks which started somewhere around ARR days. I did not include Wolf, Warwolf and Direwolf gear as they look basically like levelling gear or Second Coil crafted PVE gear. Also up to Twelve set, they come with weapons as well.



Each of the above mentioned Wolfmark gear sets are just categories - if I wanted to be actually petty, I'd write down every UNIQUE armour design within each category, which contains somewhere between 3-7 unique armour variants even without the pack + packliege recolours. Garo alone is easily forgotten and counts among some of the fan favourite armour and weapon designs which some Top 100 stuff even pales against, which also come with three mounts (two if we don't count recolours).

My MAIN gripe with the Wolfmark series is that the release gap in Stormblood was staggering and the Shadowbringers sets no longer had weapons. But to say there was NOTHING for 18 or 20 seasons? You are WRONG.

Ah yes, I don't care for casuals - which is why I was clamouring for casuals getting equally cool armours with stuff like Battle Pass way before they announced it, which is why I supported newcomers to PvP to help them get their stuff set up so they can play better, offer advice, tutor newbies, practice with them and so on. Yeah, I don't care about casuals.

there IS nothing wrong with that but my concern is that squares gonna forsake the casuals again once they capitualte to the ranked players, we already went through so many feast seasons, i REALLY don't want it to happen again.

Yes, you have not seen me say it frequently in a forum, because guess what Im also discussing such things in discords dedicated to PvP which tend to not be on the forum's public forefront and also not as narrowminded to discuss any topic related to PvP. But in the times I have done? How many times do I need to keep saying that I am on board with every Trophy Crystal reward upgrade and improvements to Battle Passes, in fact I've even agreed on multiple accounts on being OK with a redistribution as long as the original Top 100 rewards per server got marked in a different way?

Are these eluding you or are you being intentionally selective to fit your narrative? Sure I can't tell you what to do, but I can certainly expect you to be genuinely paying attention or doing your research before you spread misinformation.

It's super disappointing to see ranked get exclusive rewards again - especially requiring you to rank so high. At least these ones (I believe) aren't FOMO which was 99% of the issue of Feast rewards.

I think the best change they could make to incentivize rank but not make it fucking agonizing to get is move the rewards down to Gold.
For veterans who constantly play PvP that may seem low, but for everyone else Gold is still quite the journey. It took me 3 months to get to Plat in Season 1.

(and it was awful which is why I haven't played ranked since)

i think ill just wat for them to move to the wolf mark shop or go without. rank not fun at all for me.
