A request to Soken to change certain boss music for specific Endwalker Dungeons

One key issue. This story CLEARLY takes after ff4 so your example holds little water there. If you have an issue with fanservice in a game like xiv "that's revolves around fanservice" you may be playing the wrong game. Skip cutscenes if it bothers that much. Folks say this post story is lasting to long but I bet if they cut it in half yall would then complain about stories not being focused enough and jumping all over the place.

Meh, if I wanna hear the FFIV regular battle theme, I'll go play FFIV. Last time in SHB when they did that music change, it really sucked and made the last boss theme to those dungeons feel lesser too. I think they should just give the dungeon bosses music that fits each boss's fight the best like they were doing in the past somewhat. Variety is the spice of life, and dungeons are already way too streamlined and similar. Don't need them to be even more uniform.

Troia and Manalis use the FFIV standard "Boss" theme ("Battle 2") for their Fiends.

Barbariccia uses the actual Four Fiends theme.

OP is asking for the Dungeon "mid-bosses" to make the carpet match the drapes by giving them the FFIV "normal battle" theme ("Battle 1"), thereby completing the FFIV battle theme triforce.

On the other hand, it helps keep the idea of a dungeon feel part of an expansion's arc story when you hear its boss theme. This is something thats been standard in rpgs since forever and honestly the boss themes starting from SB-EW have been consistently good imo, I always found the mixed boss themes used in ARR and Heavensward (minus a certain one) to be very sleepy.

I mean, if they added different music to every boss that's be fine with me. More music is more music. Buts its not something that I feel that its in desperate need. The music of FFXIV and how its handled is fine imo.

Just wait until you find out Meteor (our stand-in for WOL in the CG trailers) changing his job from Dark Knight to Paladin is another reference to FF4 (Cecil turning into a Paladin with his original class being Dark Knight)

Sorry about that I just have no excuse for it and I apologise for it but I do really wanna highlight how overused FFIV fan service has been in Endwalker specifically:

-Tower of Zot(including a few enemies within it)
-Magus Sisters(they are just slightly altered Amano artwork designs)
-Tower of Babil
-Barnabos
-Dr Lugae(still ongoing)
-The Watcher(aka FuSoYa right down to the rainbow robes)
-Loporrits
-IV town theme
-IV battle theme in the loporrit areas
-Moon is artificial and made by a different race of people(in this case Hydaelyn the last ancient), also there were a load of people sleeping in status waiting to wake up
-actually have a fair bit a break until, travel to space on a spaceship to go beat up an entity trying to kill life on the planet
-Have many fake out deaths (entire last zone of EW is on par with entirety of IV)
-Troia
-Scarmilogne
-Barbarricca (actually the most unique of all the void series)
-Cagnazzo
-Rubicante
-Golbez
-Shadow dragon
-Zeromus
-IV four fiends theme
-Octomammoth

I think it's because older expansions tended to quarantine a reference into a specific piece of content, rather than basically using it as a topcoat for the entire MSQ.

Rather than just, "Ha ha, that's the [insert game] content over there, hanging around optionally at the edges of the MSQ", it has become, "Well I guess this is FFIV Online now".

To be blunt, most of FFXIV's directorial decisions are ultimately marketing/recruitment-oriented, and the immense nostalgia / popularity of FFIV in the FF fan community's collective conscious is probably a driving factor here.
