Is Scholarch Montichaigne sus, or is it just me?

I still don't see anything about him that reads as 'evil' instead of just 'politician who knows how to play the game'. Him approving of Claudien's auracite research just sounds to me like them using a recognizable 'trustworthy' name so we know that he's in good hands while trying not to give all that to Fourchenault; if they wanted us to be worried they would've said Sevestre.

His Japanese voice acting doesn't mean much; his actor's all over the place, and while there's a lot of villains in there, he's not exactly The Villain Guy (he's in a number of Gundams, and basically has a 50/50 record of 'minor antagonist' to 'supporting character to heroes' there). Hell, Endwalker also has him voice Ahewann, and that guy's basically as heavy an 'Approved Good Guy' as we can get.

I'm replaying 6.1 currently and it struck me as a bit odd that Montichaigne asks us to tell him about our planned adventure in the Thirteenth as a "personal favour" in exchange for him petitioning the Forum to let us access the forbidden archives. Why personal and not a report to the entire Forum – as indeed Fourchenault soon asks us to provide regarding our trip to the First, as his exchange for supporting us.

I didn't mean his VA's other roles. I have no idea who his VA even is. I just meant his performance in the Montichaigne scenes that I watched. And yeah, the fact I can mentally picture him sounding like a villain doesn't mean anything. I know. I was just saying it in response to the character design comment.
