I think the real reason is that they can't sell an older set from Job A as a "new" set for Job B then anymore. Happens often with dungeon gear or starter gear of new jobs.

I would not care if they still did this. I'm sure there's many others who wouldn't too if it opened up the glamour pool massively, they're gonna do reskins anyways. Might as well let us have more options
