    It's a fair complaint. WAR has always been the dungeon tank because of the broken sustain on it, while DRK has always been more of a raiding tank due to having more mitigations and more damage, but even beyond that... DRK straight up has to work harder.

    The button input for DRK is way more than the input for WAR is, and that alone to me should be enough of a reason to see DRK have better damage. More effort being put in should result in more results naturally.

    Dark knight is only busier than warrior during burst and possibly not significantly for the odd minute ones. I’m fairly sure that it’s less busy outside of it, upheaval is every 30s, carve & abyss is every 60s, both dump two gap closers, dark knight edges a couple of times as well. I guess it has to drift bw up to delirium too, but it’s not that hard.

    Re more effort for better results: red mage, dragoon, probably a physical ranged too but I don’t know them.

    I don't know if i'd call it a meltdown, i'm merely voicing concern that my job's existence is invalidated by another that does everything better. The tanks play so similar there isn't really any reason not to play War instead, and i don't want to. Which i don't think is unreasonable at all.

    Oh boy, here we go. I've always believed that if a day comes where DRK stops being top DPS tank, people will realize a lot of its glaring flaws...and here we are. DRK has felt really bad in recent years, and has genuinely not felt like a proper tank since SB. The main thing keeping it afloat has been its DPS numbers (And Dark Mind somewhat.), but now it is just...not that anymore. It's not particularly that WAR is better at everything. But more that DRK has no real identity as a tank outside of high DPS and a couple unique mits. WAR and PLD have felt like they've gained some semblance of an identity again, and feel like proper TANKS, not just DPS sticks that hold aggro. They can protect the party, be the wall between the monster and the party. DRK has not felt like that recently, and I think THAT is the bigger issue.

    I genuinely hope that SE doesn't kneejerk and nerf WAR's DPS next mini patch and call it a day, but rather look at DRK and realize that just having high DPS isn't really a good identity or job design. Cause the second DRK becomes bottom DPS, its identity is...what? DRK needs fixing, and I hope this makes them realize that. :V

    If we trust Yoshi to make changes to Dark, they'll probably give it a million HP regen abilities so that healers can become even less wanted in high level content, and then also buff the DPS of tanks. He already said that he won't be nerfing jobs, but just buffing them throughout the expansion.

    Next live letter maybe he'll officially tell healers to "Lul play RDM." Or maybe he'll announce that the healer/Tank roles are being removed, and everything will just be classified as a DPS.

    lol wut? DRK has a total of 5 mitigation buttons (not counting role actions and not counting Nascent Flash which is just "Bloodwhetting but for other person"), same as WAR, but one of those is only useful for magic damage (meaning it's practically useless depending on the fight), and the other is such low mitigation that you're always stacking it with something else. So more like 4 mitigation buttons. Not even touching on WAR's mitigation being way stronger.

    And don't start with "but healing isn't mitigation" yes it is. You can't heal if a mechanic one-shots you, true, but how many situations are you gonna be in where a 15% mit or a 10% health shield would have saved you from a one-shot? You shouldn't be in that situation to begin with.

    Dark Knight seems like the best off-tank/secondary tank by far.
