Palace of the Dead, Heaven-on-High, Eureka Orthos. They are also useful when a healer is dead or there is no healer, especially at lower levels where they are more effective and tanks have less self-heals. A good emergency button when there isn't a healer.

I found them useful when doing no-healer runs of dungeons at lower levels especially.

i've been thinking, why not rework them to have them replace restorative abilities ( second wind, lucid dreaming) with a 20 sec cd per use, some limitations can also be placed on how many can be equipped, let them also be used by all jobs while greatly reducing self-sustain abilities currently present (on Tanks specifically).
The main issue is that you can't even consider using them in raids because you are probably using tinctures.

Speaking of Tanks, why not give them some crowd control status effects and make them associated with their aoe abilities on 30 sec cd, for example (PLD:SoC. & GNB:BowShk. = blind effect for a short duration) , (WAR: Orog. & DRK:AbysDr. = Pacification effect for a "shorter" duration).
PLD used to have blind on Flash and Pacification on Shield Swipe. Nobody really noticed or cared about these effects, to the point SE just got rid of them. The only thing people notice most of the time in this game is whether something does damage.
