    It's already as bare as it can be. There is still a remnant of mechanical play in the fact that the Whispering Dawn, Fey Blessing and Fey Illumination abilities source out from the fairy location so thinking about where to place your "Totem" fairy still means something (Even if the new range buffs dumb it down.)

    The only thing that the Fairy pet actively does different than SMN's is the Embrace casts.

    Also love the fact Whispering Dawn is in weaker potency than Physis (and Physis II), whereas Physis II does both heal + HP recovery by 10%, but SGE skill has 30 yalms but SE gave Whispering Dawn double middle finger and moved on.

    This is how you spot favoritism.

    Quick edit: They could've fused Fey Illumination with Whispering Dawn and give it 30 yalms is what I'm trying to say.

    You're missing out then. We had some pretty cool tools before ShB- Eye for and Eye, Virus, Shadowflare, Bane and Miasma III. They had in-built mitigation effects and we're pretty nice to use in dungeons and some raids.

    No need for that anymore. Too much buttons, on top of dealing with mechanics. In a time where competing with other MMOs that does less than that. Can’t live the past and think the new subs is going to deal with that.

    Current scholar is the best of a bad bunch. Until they prove that they can design healers with interesting gameplay in mind, I don't want to see any changes because I know those fingers on the monkey's paw will start curling.

    In the same way you've dealt with less buttons and monotonous 1 button gameplay, I'd say new subs could easily adapt to the few more buttons we had. I mean, we did adapt to them back then- I doubt there was an actual push ever from the healer community to have our kits simplified in the way they are at the moment.

    We dealt with mechanics and we managed 2 dots in Stormblood- Healer population was fine: Though the biggest issue in Stormblood regarding healers was WHM and the nonsensical Lily system which was promptly reworked in Shb to make it somewhat functional. Too bad it also came with the unnecessary simplification of SCH who nobody asked for.

    You're the exact reason why the game is becoming so homogenized, boring and braindead, because you accept just clicking 1 button for the most part, throw in some GCD or oGCD here and there and call it a day.

    The game is becoming monotonous as healer, and it shouldn't be so. If SE wants to keep players in, they need to innovate, or face a slow death in few years.

    God forbid healers for having a learning curve the same as other roles do. Now that the mitigation is spread among roles, the self sustain of the non healer roles is at an all time high and the damage is low enough to see on patch 0-1 healer ultimate clears, healers need those damage buttons more than ever

    By that logic, new healing buttons are also useless and should also be trimmed down to be the same as our DPS rotation. 1 Spammable, 1 HoT and 1 AoE Heal.
