Right now, you report one, and nothing seems to happen. Their posts continue to appear, so why bother reporting them?

Give us a simple reward for reporting them by making all their posts (past, and future) disappear from chat for the duration of your login session.
As is, I usually get frustrated by them enough to just switch chat over to battle mode, blocking them, and all player text interaction and future reports.

We already get a reward - that one spammer will no longer bother us once enough have reported it.

Giving rewards to players for reporting things like the RMT spambots is only going to cause problems as players start reporting everyone trying to get those rewards.

When you see those spam lines for hours after your report, that doesnt feel rewarding at all. Even if 'eventualy' they get banned. Because when that happens, the next bot is instantly ready.

A more direct reward motivates people. And even something as simple as removing the messages of such person is already a good reward. The reward then is: his spam is instantly invisible.
