Without a Bozja around, Criterion should probably at least become more entry-level (below or EX-level-ish) and give a similar amount of glam, mount, emote rewards, etc.

FF 16 is finished. Done. There goes that meme. The resources are clearing going into FF16 (and likely other random gacha/NFT projects)

This isn't WoW. Players shouldn't be forced to grind hours every day in something to get value from it.
They've also said in regards to role quests vs job quests - it's too much work to do 19 jobs worth and with more new jobs still to come it's just not worth the dev cost.
I mean...Bozja and Eureka are wastes of time as well. All that work for a boost in ilvl that doesn't matter if you aren't doing savage. It's literally busy work for the sake of time padding. Even just for glam those zones are just huge time sinks of monotonous grind.
The other are wastes of time due to a lack of rewards. The content itself isn't the issue. If more people played for fun it'd be received different. But most play for rewards n so that doesn't work.
The moment we start getting the same stuff every expac many of you will complain about that very thing. Right or wrong I don't believe the devs can win with some of you
Forum Users have gone over all these topics even before they became an issue again.
How many years ago was the oldest thread for the whole Maintenance timing.
How many threads pushing and contradicting each other about if a content was worth it, or that it was cut for some other reason.
[It feels like alot when I keep bringing up reasons like dual Development, Cv19, Experimenting with new content ideas, Server Upgrades/System Changes being pushed to the next Expac.
<With the rare change being brought in earlier cause there was no reason to hold back, and or Benifited to Input Earlier to set the stage for later changes.>
But Clearly Some have fallen so over the edge, they can only Bring it up, like a Headache addled person hoping the Futile Memeing/Joking would take the pain out of their temporary Complaints.]
Whilst Hoping That it all comes up In full force for all the content is alot to ask.
[But one that SE should do, if they actually plan 10 more years, and do not plan to convert disappointment into ingrained dmg. Like some Segments of players have with undeniable neglect to some core game aspects.]
We cannot just go automatically to the other extreme.
--------
Some content cannot comeback, whilst others are in a Hiatus/Skipped an expac.
For Example, we are never going to get any Real Role Class/Job Quests.
The Shb/EW ones aren't even what the original Role/Job Quests were.
More akin to Role/Job Locked MSQ Side quests.(With the Final yellow quest being actual Role/Job Quest)
But they could one day do something with them. But likely akin to Establishing a new order in a New land kind of deal. If they ever bother.
Same with other content. No reason to do so ATM, be it for Story, Dev Resources/Time or Etc Reason likely covered already.
It's also a one and done deal for a lot of people. It also wasnt that very well received as the loud minority who advocate for it want to believe it to be; you would noticed that feedback when it came to Eureka Hydatos when they nerfed the zone's size and questing, and especially so with how easy, short and simple Bozja/Zadnor came about. The only really fun ideas that came about it were the raids and in Bozja specifically it's duels and skirmishes.I mean...Bozja and Eureka are wastes of time as well. Now I'm very sure that just like with Deep Dungeons, I dont see them abandoning the idea of exploratory zones; its possible they just wanted to take a break from it in order to focus their resources on improving the old game and implementing new content features in Endwalker that I keep saying it'll get expanded and improved as it goes along. It's the perfect time too, since to a lot of people EW was a good send-off and a good point to taking a long hiatus of the game. So as a dev, it probably felt like the best time for tuning up the old game and presenting new features (cant forget that graphical upgrade which isnt a small task), and we cant continue to ignore that we have gotten some content that was sorely missing in Shb, such as deep dungeon and Ultimates to name a few.
Okay but if they release that after the japanese fan fest which is January 7, 2024- January 8th 2024. That will be 4 months after they release 6.5 which judging by there schedule. which yeah i know .5 patches cycles are normally 6 months and that will be 2 months before 7.0
It seems to me that someone higher up at SE has decided that FFXIV is profitable enough as it is, and development funds are being funneled into other exciting projects that they view as more profitable.
That's a bit extreme, isn't it? As far as I'm aware no one is asking for FFXIV to be turned into a grind. People are just asking for lasting content to be added. Island Sanctuary is a 5-10 minute weekly, and it's not lasting content no matter how much you enjoy it.
