Think about this; You're not allowed to swear ingame. If you get reported for it, you get an account warning. IN A GAME WITH A MATURE LANGUAGE FILTER. Ridiculous over moderation of chat, under moderation of literally everything else. Actual predators roam free in the venue and RP scenes with relative impunity. Honestly it's a joke.

The language filter is only there so that if people do swear, it will likely be hidden from people (I'm guessing particularly minors) who weren't looking to see it. The existence of the filter doesn't suddenly give you some sort of right to use obscenities when you've already agreed not to.

Just because the Terms of Serivce say so doesn't mean I'm not going to call it out for being one of the stupidest bannable offenses in the game. Context of the language matters. What if you accidentally misspell a word, and get punished with account warnings and a ban? What if you use this language in private company, or in your house?

The filter is absolute BS. It's existence is meaningless. If they want to ban obscene language and censor it to such a degree why not just... Prevent the message from being sent? Automatically ban people for thinking of using curse words? Is a 13 year old really going to be mentally scarred because they saw someone say "shit" ingame?

Perhaps, perhaps not. That 13 year old might swear like a sailor. That 35 year old you just cussed out may not have ever been exposed to that level of verbal venting. Guess which one is more likely to report you? I can think of some extremely salty wording that, despite supposed context, would get you kicked out a store or restaurant, let alone a ban in a video game.

Know your audience. One would hope you've learned what is, and is not, appropriate in FC chat or private chat with your friends.
