yep they got shafted in this patch dancer big damage
The argument intended by presenting the potency maths was that BRD never had big damage to begin with, and that their primary contribution was smart utility placement. Silent Nocturne is single target, and so is Warden's Paean. These buttons have to be timed and targeted intelligently in order to impact the battlefield, because there is no compensation to be had anywhere else for BRD. Unfortunately, the utility was also innately tied to the little damage that BRD had, so de facto deleting Nocturne means that BRD is now a high risk, low reward job.
You now have two options as BRD:
1) make high-risk, low percentage positioning choices in order to MAYBE secure kills with Nocturne, while ruining your PS/PP potencies in hopes that the utility will outweigh your lowered dmg contribution
OR,
2) Continue playing at range, losing out on an entire proc source of PP and losing out in the increased Repelling potency buff, resulting in more safety but zero impact damage and completely absent utility.
It's a major lose-lose situation, and now you're relying not only on your team to pick up the slack in terms of damage, but also for the enemy to make critical errors in positioning and targeting. And you know what? I dont WANT plain jane damage compensation for Nocturne nerfs. I must stress again that Nocturne was single target and had to be placed smartly. You had to keep track of Guards, Purify, and threat assessment/priority. If you found BRD silence annoying and consistently interrupting your kill opportunities or denying your escapes, it's because the enemy BRD made the correct threat assessments and skillfully placed the ability--and/or you made a positioning error bc you didnt respect the enemy. Disrespecting enemy buttons and then complaining that the enemy pressed said buttons is peak noob behavior, Im sorry.

Thank You, I said this before bard was piss easy to play. And the silence giving that range as well as damage was ridiculous.
I was doing fine till last night...Thankfully I'm not bothered with ranked rewards. I just want the bard's title for 1k wins so I will take my bard's ass to casual where it now most definitely belongs and get the last 120ish there. I do wish all other bards out there a better experience and to enjoy a speedy climb! o7I welcome the balance discussion cause it tangentially relates to a bunch of play considerations. I talked with a bunch of other crystal players on Discord too who got big impressions as well. New Bard is a blast.
Already climbed from Gold 4 zero stars to 2 stars. Let's go big mode guys.
Update: Had about 60 matches now and got beat down hard, but climbed back to Gold 4 1 star! Never give up!
P.s. It's okay to give up on delusions!
You cant be seriously calling 2000 potency single target OP when RDM line silence exists. If BRD was so easy why wasnt everyone dominating Crystal ranks with it?

Is A.Anchor next on the chopping block I guess? Like Nocturne, never heard anybody complain about it, but apparently nocturne has tons of haters, so I'm kinda worried for a skill that I find way superior in power and versatility.
im guessing there was alot of complaints from jp cuz ive scoured the forums and unless i missed something i havent seen a post call for brd nerf
Sam LB: check
