Endwalker is basically Kingdom Hearts levels of random shit at this point.
It wasn't unrealistic at all. They're already wary of us and think we would behave in exactly that way. Many of them are just waiting for it to happen. The last thing we should do is give truth to that opinion. The gains with Garlemald relations are because everyone has been careful to do everything possible to allow them to retain their agency. The MSQ wasted a ton of time appeasing the people of Garlemald, in a real life scenario these people are at their mercy and with a pressing issue like the one we were dealing with the best they could expect was to inform them what was going to happen, not ask for permission. That's really dumb and completely unrealistic.
Both rolling over the concerns and opinions of the garleans with 0 mercy and pushing for friendly relations and equal trade agreements are realistic in the sense of this has happened in the real world. Very simplified: end of world war 1 saw massive reperation demands towards germany while end of world war 2 saw the building of a common trade market that has ended a bloody history of inter european war.
Yep if OP wanted a RL example I was also going to bring up the world punishing Germany so badly at the end of WWI and how it was one of the causes of WWII.Both rolling over the concerns and opinions of the garleans with 0 mercy and pushing for friendly relations and equal trade agreements are realistic in the sense of this has happened in the real world. Very simplified: end of world war 1 saw massive reperation demands towards germany while end of world war 2 saw the building of a common trade market that has ended a bloody history of inter european war.
This. God, this is my biggest issue with the pacing in HW and why I like the newer xpacs over it because while the pacing is still not so great, it's better than "everyone is singing Kumbaya around the campfire now, holding hands, after 1000 years of being at war with each other" The way that things were handled post-SB in trying to get things on the track to being better was a lot more believable than what happened in HW. I like HW, it was great, but two patches in, in-game maybe a month or two, and "oh yeah we're friends now!!!" was just absolute crap. 3.1 up until the end of 3.3 was pretty meh for me because of that. I was much more interested in 3.4 and 3.5 and like the 4.0 leadup a lot more than the weak 3.x patches that came before.
The Garleans I get. The whole schtick with going into their lands wasn't to invade but help and show that "hey despite all the atrocities you committed against us, we're gonna come in and be nice because we'd prefer to move past all of that assuming you don't try the same crap again" so showing them the mercy they didn't show others was kind of a passive aggressive frick you... but I also just wanted to throw the old rich people into a lake somewhere after seeing how nice they were living compared to the people in Tertium lol. I know my reaction to the guy going WELL I'M NOT GONNA THANK YOU!!!! was "k, well, have fun walking back on your own I guess, bye" until he got dressed down by Jullus.
Nah, we don't have 7 spinoffs in 10 years scattered in different timelines + a mobile game that seems unrelated until oh, actually, this is a huge prequel, before getting to the next numbered patch... and we don't need a spreadsheet to tell us what the actual timeline is, it's pretty straightforward.Plus we don't get attractions attacks or Donald refusing to heal us and just casting Thunder repeatedly, I'd call that a plus!
You say that, but XIV basically is exactly that to the whole FF franchise. It turns all of FF into a Kingdom Hearts timey wimey mashup. It's just not Disney this time, it's itself.
You don't need a spreadsheet to keep track of everything!? lol
Valens thing feels like something that will never come back in any way tbh. It's revealed AND dealt with within a single quest on a minor side story quest, and I am 100% sure the only reason they did it is because they needed a punchable asshole and excuse to do cool mecha things from the Weapons storyline. None of the stories in the Tataru storyline feel consequential, and are moreso epilogues/check-ups on already-ended stories.
On the brightside the Island Decorations is legitimately a good feature and as a result this is the first Island Sanctuary content I've actually enjoyed.
Now just put a god damn house on the island.
I have been thinking about this a lot and I am starting to believe that 7.0 will not only have a new starting spot for new players but that new starting area will be as large as ARR. When I think about how little content we have, its clear to me that they are redirecting a huge amount of resources to something and its not 6.x so it has to be 7.0 as FF 16 is now complete. If they are not spending an extra 6 months of time and all of the zones, quests, and other content we used to get on 7.0 then I am really concerned for the future of the game.
