I actually dont think we will destroy Zeromus, he is way too powerful....my guess is this will be a holding action, not enough to kill, but just enough to banish him. Not dead, just blocked or "chained" as Zodiark was.

The Watcher will have a new prisoner to monitor VERY carefully. With the brands repaired, this would seem to be the best way to , for now, deal with this menace.

Perhaps, but remember that

Azdaja has to survive this story arc. It was already established that even after her becoming a voidsent and her being merged with Zodiark's remaining shard she can still be saved, the reason for that is that she will be saved. She's also a character that's too big for the story to kill, imagine how hurt our friend Vrtra would be if she died. So no, she will survive and therefore we must extract her and thus the desire to return to the source from Zeromus.
