Oh yeah I'm very aware of it.
The game just has a different target audience, and the devs are clearly targeting that target audience.
So might as well just use the product as it is now intended, a catgirl fucking simulator for $13/month.

It’s not kissing boots to point out facts. You paid for access to play the product they have prepared, regardless of how good/bad/extensive it is. SE owes you nothing else. What an absolutely ridiculous take of people complaining or asking for more content to be added to the game
yall will really go to far lengths to try and defend this game as much as you can, absolutely pathetic
then again your entire post history is just you kissing yoshi's boots and worshipping him, calling off any sort of complaint and criticism of the game by telling them to "just play a different game and quit"
yikes
Everything they do is in an effort to maximize profits and cast as wide a net as possible. You are free to make polite suggestion and requests…and if those make business sense to them and are pretty wide-spread it might happen.
..but this isn’t some kind of town hall/round table discussion where we are entitled to anything else. It’s not like they owe us because we have umpteen hundred hours invested in our character.
So according to your point of view, people shouldnt even complain then, after all they dont owe us anything so why even complain ? All we are good is for paying the subscription right ?It’s not kissing boots to point out facts. Nah you should complain. Give feedback as much as you can, but if they still won't listen after a while, then you just leave and find another video game.
And I'm telling you, as a dude who's been complaining in this place for 4-5 years, they won't listen.
They won't listen to you, they won't listen to me, because we're not the target audience anymore.
Let's just both hope the upcoming MMOs are good.
This does click for me a bit. I’ve been realizing my interest in FFXIV has waned to the point where I’ve barely touched the game in recent memory - it’s been a week or so since I logged in for only a few minutes - and only offered the newest trailer a glance - when I use to be so excited. It’s disappointing not to be the target audience but it’s something I can accept.Nah you should complain. Perhaps 7.0 will spark that interest again.
Welp as soon as this game becomes known ONLY for that, it will be my cue to leave, just gross to see a franchise you loved and grew up with turn into something as such. For now thankfully there’s still enough of us left for the actual gaming content (yes I still have a lot to do because Im slow and lazy).

You're always accusing people of saying things they didn't to try and flip the script.
No one is saying that you can't have complaints. I have not seen a single person say that. Maybe if you didn't immediately jump to "everyone who disagrees with me in a Yoshida boot-licker on massive amounts of copium", and took the time to actually digest what people are retorting with, you'd have a better grasp of the discussion.
You can complain all you want. You are free to do so. But when the company you are paying does not listen, and does not have a product that you feel is worth the cost, then it is up to you to stop paying. It isn't up to the company to try to make you stay.
If you don't like the product, or you stopped enjoying the product, stop paying for it. It's not that hard a concept to grasp. The only thing you are in control of is your own purchases.
If the game has taken a complete nosedive in your opinion, and you feel as though they're not going to change direction, instead of insulting people who feel differently than you and trying to push your subjective opinions as objective facts, simply take a step back and ask "is this product worth my time, money, and anger". If the answer to that is "no", let go and move on to something else. No one is holding you hostage. The FOMO you feel is of your own creation.
I quit for over a year because I wasn't enjoying the game anymore. I was burnt out. I didn't feel it was worth my money. So I did the very simple thing and stopped paying. I gave up my house, left my friends, got over my FOMO, and it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.
I don't understand why saying this is so taboo. Like get over yourself.
You can complain all you want, but when you don't feel like anything is changing and it's not worth your money, yet you still keep paying anyway just to continue complaining, then sorry, you're acting silly.

Agreed. It really isn’t a difficult concept. When I was trudging around Ruby Sea at Stormbloods release and found myself so bored I couldn’t take it, I logged out, unsubbed, and didn’t give them a cent for two years until ShB. If ShB wasn’t getting such amazing reviews for the story I’d never have returned again.
I spent that time playing games I found fun, and didn’t post once here about how terrible I found StB for those two years all while handing over more money. Nor did I look for people enjoying it to tell them they are boot lickers.
I admit I found that particularly boring too. But I was benefiting from otherwise really loving the alternate shard and storyline overall so I was able to push through those sections. Also for some reason it still wasn’t as boring as meandering around the villages outside ruby sea.

Quick question? How did you get through the boring Talos section....twice in Shb (the one in Ahm Araeng and the other during the 2nd visit at Kholusia)?Agreed. It really isn’t a difficult concept. Yeah it's disappointing, but it is what it is. The dev team has pivoted to a spot where they can squeeze as much profit out of the game while exerting the least effort. They essentially min-maxed the development for this game, and if that's okay with them, then I guess that's fine. It's their game after all. They just can't expect a lot of people who expected more from this game to be fulfilled. They can't go around and flaunt that "Oh we have so much depth guys!". Can't have that cake and eat it too. This does click for me a bit. I mean it is slowly going that way. FFXIV's one strong niche is that it's a very social MMO, and you know how social MMOs go.Welp as soon as this game becomes known ONLY for that, it will be my cue to leave, just gross to see a franchise you loved and grew up with turn into something as such. I was surprised that it honestly took this long to just have ERP venues all over the place. I remember people calling out that one venue going around and advertising in shout chat, but now it's gotten so normalized that it's kinda the number 1 gil making method lmao.
Like I'm pretty sure there's more people RMTing in ERP venues than like raiding just cause of how much money is in there. The amount of gil I've seen change hands is just insane. Once saw 80 mil gil for an auction, and apparently that's commonplace. Like god damn.
