We have finalized the plans for being able to return to inns and we wanted to share them with you:
- It won’t be possible to “Teleport” to an inn
- Players can choose to “Return” to inns, in addition to their currently set home point
- Only one inn can be set at a time
That said, we still want to hear your feedback and will pass it along to the team!

So if we were to return to Ul'dah's inn from let's say Coerthas when we exited the inn would we be in Ul'dah or Coerthas? We have finalized the plans for being able to return to inns and we wanted to share them with you:

As you are using the Return function I would imagine that you will exit to the city that the inn is located in. My question is will we be able to set the inn we want as we can set our home points?
As for the problem of overcrowding in Ul'Dah I do not forsee this problem being fully resolved until Ver 2.0. At that time we will have new servers and game machanics that will allow for linking the Market Wards allowing players to better utilize all 3 cities.....at least til they open up Ishgard <Jueno>. Thyen the fun begins again.

inns are useless untill the level cap is raised, for me at least. But i will be happy to have home point at uldah and limsa.
Hmmm, while I really like the ability to return to an Inn, I have to admit, I can't say I like the direction this and a few other things are going in. It's not something so simple as saying "I don't like this feature" or "I don't like that feature". Rather, the general direction of "complexity" worries me. As a UI designer myself (though I work primarily in web page design) all of these special cases really bother me. We just keep getting more and more complex special cases; which in turn require more and more complex interfaces to support them. "You can set a regular home point, but also an Inn return point, but only on one at a time, and to return to one, select return, then where you want to return to...".We have finalized the plans for being able to return to inns and we wanted to share them with you:

It's not a huge hassle by itself, but it's one of a growing number of little special cases that lead to top-heavy, unweildly UIs. Just look at our Attributes menu, with it's pages and pages of separate information for, frankly, not much correlated content. They could have made it so that you set the Inn as your home point and avoided the need to at least add another button, probably another entire menu.
To be fair to both sides, I do understand that they may have done this because of the way the "Return" system works; adding a new one may have just taken less time than reworking the current one. In which case, it can be streamlined easily in 2.0. I'm just starting to get more and more worried about the UI bloat we have been seeing recently. They did a good job cutting it down 3-4 patches ago, I just don't want to see them take three steps back now.

Favorable. Most people prefer to always have their HP in a town, but are tempted to change it to easily access repeat content (Ifrit and Moogle come to mind). With this change, no one has to choose between keeping Ul'dah HP and quickly obtaining more of Ifrit's dark matter! We have finalized the plans for being able to return to inns and we wanted to share them with you:

I often set my HP at Camp Broken Water when running Ifrit runs, and when I'm not it's commonly set as Ul'dah. With this plan in place I think I might just keep Gridania set as my Inn return point (I really like the inn at Gridania more) and switch off as needed for the other. I can see the reason they probably don't allow "Teleport" is the fact that everyone in your party receives a teleport request. It'd be cool teleporting everyone to your room but may likely cause problems. The only biggest downfall I really see of this is everyone will set their inn location as the Quicksand (Ul'dah) and just leave it that way. At least until the rooms are locked from use again if they aren't already by the time this feature goes live.Favorable. Also might it be possible to get information about setting inns as a favored spot for "Return"? Will it cost gil to set a room? Will we need to complete any additional quests? And will the 15-minute delay timer apply to using either Return point? Meaning if I Return to my room, will I be locked out of using Return again to travel to a say Turning Leaf if my Return point is set there?
