Suggestion? Equippable hair.

I mean, this is hardly a new suggestion, but playing through Tears of the Kingdom got me thinking…

A good chunk of the headgear in that game are just things like hairpins, that when equipped have your hair done in a different style.

In FFXIV, we have some hairstyles with scrunches headbands etc. Why not have an actual item (”Hairband”) that when equipped shows that particular hairstyle. If need be make the dye channel itself be the hair color.

It need not be too many, but especially since we have both glasses as items and fashion accessories, I don’t see why we neglect hair too.

TL;dr: gimme wigs.

Krile's hood and the recent false ponytail from Tataru's questline indicate that dyeable hair attached to headpieces is viable as an approach, at least in small doses. And we have a few masks like the Rakshasa and Warg sets that look like hair as well.

As an avid cosplayer it's really annoying i can't swap between them at whim because of hairstyles

Exactly, instead of wigs just have more hairstyles and change them with glamour plates. I often find myself choosing hair I don't like so it works with my various outfits.

My big wish would be to have a unified interface for Gear, Glamour, hair and portraits (which are still buggy as hell).

Absolutely a viable approach to circumvent the limitations of the current system. They would just need to not make the mistake of releasing such items as actual gear. Make them strictly glamour pieces and we are good to go!

I would actually love to see this. I give my character a ponytail because it makes sense for her to have her hair out of her eyes while fighting, but I'd love if casual outfits could have her with her hair loose.
