I wanted the earth, wind and water elements to be reflected in the spells themselves, so Headstone as the final spell in the "Stone" line, Gust for the "Aero" line and Geyser for the "Aqua" line.* The mushrooms are intended to reflect the three oldest and most foundational colors in human culture, red, black and white.
But I think you are right, mushrooms are cool but the WHM aesthetic is very beautiful and mushrooms are ugly. So let's replace Red Mushrooms with Peonies, White Mushrooms with Apricots and black Mushrooms with Violets!
*the reason why I didn't go for the classic "Quake" or "Tornado" is because they seem too destructive for a White Mage and also seem like they should require more buildup for the amount of impact they should have.
