I did have those same fears at first but once you get used to data center traveling, it simply becomes a sort of commuting to return to your old NA world to play with your friends and old FC members there and vice versa when they visit me. As you said, it takes a bit of coordinating with friends but they have no issues with that because they like visiting me to bathe in my onsen from my own plot 60 Shiro mansion as well to chat. Some people act like waiting a minute or two to login between data centers is the same as having to go to an airport to travel..... Exodus is now congested and more people are showing up to Dynamis while the new wards have yet to open for bidding lol. Once they realize data center travel isn't as bad as they think, it's so much less stressful when you own your own plot instead of losing lotto after lotto on their congested worlds. It's true that you can't access your retainers but I solve that minor issue by having my Choco bags empty and then take what I will need when visiting other worlds and data centers.

I even won two mansion lottos on Seraph, the fullest of the Dynamis worlds, the first was my mansion at W14 P35 in Goblet when Seraph first went live and on Monday at Shiro W14 P60 :3

In the past, I moved from Louisoix on EU to Spriggan because an LB11 popped up back in the placard days, I tried my luck and lost, I took the risk for it because it's one of the best plot in the game.

As for your remark about me having a large, I do have everything I want on EU new worlds, yes, which is comparable to Dynamis (minus Seraph)

I literally do this every day since I have friends on every DC and we play together. I know plenty of other people that do this. Not that its "co-ordinating" by any serious measure.

The ring stays active even after a transfer, so long as you happen to be on the same server simultaneously. In fact, my EB partner moved to Dynamis to get a home and we still ring to each other all the time. So unless you reaallllllllllyyyyyyyy want to do the anniversary...$0. EDIT: Also technically even if you wanted to get remarried for whatever reason, there is literally a free marriage plan on the mogstation.

As someone who's socially a part of 3 different FCs on Crystal despite my character residing on Aether:

-Discord
-Party / say / shout / yell / etc chat when with friends

As for visiting the FC house? Right click someone in the FC on your friend list -> estate teleportation -> select their FC house. I warp to the FC houses of the ones I'm socially involved in every day, you just gotta take the effort to do 2-3 extra clicks. The horror.

My friend made an FC when Dynamis first opened, they got a large literally uncontested. Most larges in the personal wards of Dynamis also had 2-3 bids each, and plenty only had 1 on the first round. Sure beats your forever 200+.
There'll be 5 more wards, along with 4 new servers of 30 wards coming to Dynamis in the future, will be literally a gold ticket to get a large nigh uncontested. If you choose to not move at that time, then that's your problem.

If you don't want to move, that's your self-inflicted decision. But don't try to justify it as some great sacrifice when you lose literally nothing besides having to wait 1-2mins every now and then to swap servers.
You either exploit the openings in Square's housing design to get what you want (Going a solo FC route or by utilizing the golden ticket that is Dynamis ward openings / new servers), or you suffer with perpetual 200+ bid rounds until 2ish years from now when Square may put in more wards in 7.1...that will also be almost guaranteed to be 200+ bid rounds.

There's little difference between me teleporting to a friends house to hang out with them when I know they're online and me using data center travel then teleporting to a friends house to hang out with them when I know they're online.

Why would you need to get remarried in game?

Why would you have to remake relationships with your current FC's members? If you're referring to joining a FC on your new world, forming relationships will happen over time just as it does in real life as we change jobs, join new social groups, etc. You don't have to invest time in it. It will happen naturally if you're a decent person others would like to know better. As for visiting a FC house, see hanging out with friends.

I got a LB large on Marilith during the first lottery when the data center opened. I had the winning number 1 out of 1 entries. The only larges that were getting any sort of competition were the Mist 5/35s. My Marilith FC likewise could have gotten a large uncontested when FCs were finally able to bid but opted for a Mist medium instead (also uncontested), deciding they didn't really need a large.

The same will be happening on the remaining 4 worlds to be added to Dynamis later this year. I wouldn't be surprised if there was even less competition then. Those who were struggling to get what they wanted back on their old home worlds and were willing to transfer did so when the first 4 worlds opened. There won't be many left to make the same leap when the next 4 open.

But then your problem is you have a house and you're not satisfied. Some would envy you. They'd be happy to get any house without having to move off their current home worlds.

Sometimes you have to be willing to make a change to get what you want instead of expecting everything around you to change for your benefit. Keep pining for that large. Maybe you'll get lucky in a few years.

Just had a thought… what happens with your island if you server transfer? Does it move with you? Or would you have to start it over? Is Doma still finished or do you have to do that over? Because I remember being told that the new servers didn’t have to do the Firmament restoration stuff, it’s just there, so I’m curious what happens with that type of content, if it’s just character-dependent on world-dependent. Like what monument do you all have in Firmament without doing restoration? lol That’s one of my hubby’s big attachment points to Bryn. He spent a lot of time in Firm and helped get the Blacksmith monument to win!

Honestly I am getting beat down enough that I am considering it as an option, when the new Dynamis worlds release, if I haven’t gotten what I want by then. Right now I’m content (if frustrated!) to win a small in general and wait for the one I really want, or possibly for the next 6 wards to be added, which I’m sure will be coming sometime next expansion. I’m not going through all the hassle of a transfer without at least a guaranteed chance at my dream plot. It would take a lot of work to pare down my inventory enough to even make it possible though.

Yes, both Doma Restoration and Island Sanctuary does carry over to Dymanis, mine were just the way I had them when I moved to Seraph from Exodus. I missed out on the Firmament stuff, so that one, I'm not too sure.

It's not that hard to move to Dynamis and coordinate hanging out with friends, someone in this very same thread did it without issues, and their fc friends even come to their plot on Dynamis to hang out. Just stop.

Its not the same for everyone, especialy if you do have friends which already have a medium or large house. Server travel is on that still an option since you can still convince close friends to travel to whatever server is needed (sometimes switching to yours, sometimes to theirs). But DC travel is just a step further and because of that unlikely.

And there are also linkshell based friendgroups, usualy these arent made cross server. Which essentialy makes the server of the linkshell the default, moving away is on that a bigger step.

Depending on the personal situation, moving away might not be an option at all.

And that while duty instances are already easily cross server... The easiest step to improve here would be that housing areas are also cross server. And while i know more information needs to be transferred for this compared to a standard server. Housing servers dont realy need all the information for all visitors anyway. Inventory and chocobo saddlebag might generaly be enough. And otherwise the retainer bells could just have their information loaded in later on (upon calling one, it then might display an error that its waiting for retainer information to load - which is fine).

Cross server usage for housing areas can resolve a lot of server related conflicts, as now even the less popular servers with plenty of houses become usable for the well populated servers. As in that case you dont need to move away from your server anymore. And note, if needed a server name purely for housing purposes can be introduced, which is a lot more efficient compared to the current state in which you end up with a few very poorly populated servers.

Having the server location in the address is already something most 'event advertisers' already do anyway. Its not going to be a big hassle for players to adjust, as they will very quickly get the servernames to be shortened to 1 or 2 characters (R-Wxx-Pxx for for example a ragnarok house).

That players are forced to move is a design inflicted problem. Housing should never have been tied to servers on that part, or be made as flexible as duties. Players simply just set demands of what is reasonable. Moving to a diffirent server for just a side activity is never reasonable.

At least relocation opens up another plot to be bid on. I’m seeing a lot of sprout winners lately, so plots are drying up.

And as someone who’s been trying to relocate for over 6 months now, I haven’t won once! If someone is managing to win multiple lottos in a row, I want to know their secret! I sure miss my instant relo.
