Personally I would argue any form of battlepass system is bad to some degree but the PvP one in XIV is definetly one of the more forgiving ones, I suppose I've been burnt out before on the EA and Blizzard levels of FOMO.I see why people dislike limited-time rewards aka FOMO. However, I do not understand players who call a 16+ week time frame (4 months) a terrible thing to slowly and comfortably grind out a mere 25 levels.
The Battle Pass is a good system to incentivise engagement with PvP and time has yet to tell if items returning was a reaching promise or not, given it is only Pass #3. If the pace is too slow for you with large scale PvP, maybe bite into the sour apple and play Crystalline Conflict for a bit. Hardcore players grind it out in a day, casuals can do it easily in a month.
Not every limited-time window is maximum Blizzard-style a**cancer FOMO.
I'm not really convinced it has actually had much of an effect on number of players, generally if you do enjoy the PvP then you'll be doing it anyway for the standard rewards and if you just want the series rewards you'll probably knock those out in a couple of weeks and then be done.
The real fix to this is to generally improve the PvP mode so more people will actually want to play it and you wouldn't need FOMO tactics in the first place, but that's another discussion.
Battlepass is not a good system, it's another coping mechanism gamers have learned to accept. That mobile play style along with Facebook gaming play styles are rubbish. You shouldn't be earning rewards for checking in, or looking at a shop menu, or spending time in the menu clicking confirm for reward or 'sending your units' and not playing for the next 3 days. You should be rewarded for gaming.I see why people dislike limited-time rewards aka FOMO. shouldnt be rewards at all, just play the game.Battlepass is not a good system, it's another coping mechanism gamers have learned to accept. Because it is still a limited time window that you can miss. People got the impression that the rewards would return but there has been 0 info about it for a whole year so people will be anxious and complain until they confirm them to come back![]()

I feel them on this one, they do take an awful while to start with their rerelease schedule. But for now best practice is like two games of CC or a daily FL a day at least, more if you feel like pushing ahead to cover for days of non-play.

If terrible pvp is the issue how does getting rid of series fix this? You'll still have to play to get said rewards. I already grind at my own pace with series around and 4 months is more than enough. No one and I mean no one HAS to hypergrind anything. Also just saying, FOMO only works on weaker willed people. I don't fear missing out on a digital cosmeticFFXIV has terrible PvP, so please remove the series and just make new stuff available for Wolf Marks. That way I can grind stuff at my own pace instead of having to hyper grind every time the series goes away and the stuff becomes unattainable.
Also enough with the freaking FOMO! I hate that crap!
