I don’t see why it’s such an issue to begin with considering all the other things we have in game. Like, for what reason couldn’t we do a variety of things for him. We have Allagan tech. We have wild and crazy magic. We have weird Garlean chimera-science. We have Magitek. We have the ironworks.

We literally have the technology to to do a Million-Dollar-Man makeover. A million times over.

I said the same thing somewhere some time ago. I guess leaving him a cripple since the writers don't know what to do with him is much the same as what happened to Papalymo.

EDIT: Now that i looked back on that thread, i was reminded that Raubahn deserves a fully functional arm that also works as a cannon, like Guts.

Except for how he got that magical (supposedly temporary, but i'm sure that's as temporary as Y'shtolas not-waning health due to magical super eyesight) knowledge transfer along with the magical blood transfusion.

He is a great character, the healer part of the EW Job quests was by far my favourite due to him and my girl Fordola. It is a fine line to walk with the subject of disabilities, but I feel it did a decent job showing he was not useless and still had a role to play. That said, it is surprising how he (And Raubahn) have not been given more technical aid to help with their disabilities, given what the Ironworks and Sharlayans can do.Not sure if we will see him again anytime soon, but would be nice if when we do he has an upgraded chair at least.

I find his backstory, basic as it is, to be far more compelling than G'raha's "inexplicably good at Allagan things, oh also I'm a bloodline descendant of Allag royalty/chosen ones" nonsense. Blegh to that, I say.

The Allagan part of Graha Tia literally does not contribute one iota to his character. It's a plot device.

So if you strip the Allagan part out you get the same two men: fanboys who want to adventure with the WOL. Remember 4.1?

His arc with Fordola in the blog posts was also really bland and it was more about Fordola than it was about him.

Oh and the worst part about him is that he idolizes Alphinaud. LMAO

Now say even if they put Arenvald into 7.0 and make him the main Scion. What would happen? They're going to write him into a Graha Tia that endlessly lathers you with effusive praise the moment you walked a grandma cross the street. He's going to remark on how you managed the unthinkable feat of interacting with some sparkles over at the tree trunk. He's going to spend exactly two lines of dialogue on his mother with absolutely zero emotional resolution. Etc. Etc.

I would very much rather they let Arenvald off the hook so I don't need to witness him being made into a fanfiction character.

Granted, I haven't done the EW healer quests though. Does he or his dynamic with Fordola get any more interesting, or do the writers insist on playing the tsundere pairing card again?

Yea, I don't get it either. He's fine any everything but nothing special. No Hairy Boulder that's for sure. Fordola would be in jail if it was up to me.
