The garo set for gunbreaker is also just the aiming set and as (former) drk main I am very salty about not having access to the dope gnb makai armor. Some of the new gear in 6.4
Surprised to see a Fending set tailored for GNB. But the fact that it shares the same appearance as the Aiming set only reinforces the notion that GNB wearing Fending gear just doesn't add up (aesthetically of course)
Raid set for healers is yet another white robe...
Everything but non-DoM/DoW job AF gear, I agree. It'd give people a lot more liberty with creating glams. And you can already use heavy armor pieces as a caster and wear a chicken suit as a tank.
Been Sold on most of the gear the moment I saw them in the Twitch VoD..,
Specially that Caster Gear on the BLM.
But f.., More things that could fit many styles or combinations of course.
[Practically, we at a point where we only eat good when The code says we can. Though we'll see the reality once it's out for sure..,]
BTW anyone got some more of them Illegally Blessed Combination glams.
<aka, wouldn't be allowed normally to be used together.>
curious if creativity has struck many recently that they are willing to share.
I would also add that we should be able to glam an item regardless of level as long as you can equip both items. It's annoying having to adjust glamors for level 70 or 80 duties like Eureka or ultimates.
I made a post about it here, in case anyone is interested.
Sadly the thread about illegal glam combinations died out.
Might be time to resurrect it though, I can predict lots of new combinations becoming "available" once the new gear comes out.
Agreed. It's one of those QoL features that definitely must be a part of a general glamour rework, if we ever get something of the sort.

I understand completely why restrictions are in place. I will always be in favor of them when it comes to restrictions based on job, race, and gender. Role and crafting/gathering is different though, and I don't understand why they won't release replicas of this gear that do not have stats tied to them. That is all they have to do. I get if we have wait a patch or two or three for them to be released. That's fine. But still put in the effort to do so.
Professional lurker.
I'll say the same to you as I have the other parrots: This argument holds no water. Role restrictions on gear are not put in place because of their appearance. They are in place because the stats make them incompatible with both glamour systems that are in place. You can cry about revamping the system all you want, but it's not going to change anytime soon. They can however, release replicas.
As for job, race, and gender. They don't need to rationalize anything to you. If they don't want particular jobs, races, or genders to have access, then that's that. DoH gear is the only exception in my eyes, and I started a thread on why I think this gear should have restrictions lifted, and that reasoning has absolutely nothing to do with tanking in a bikini. Think for yourself for once.
I added a new post to it regarding the upcoming glamours here. Let's try and hype it up for when patch day comes and we can try making some epic new gear combinations to showcase on that thread.
Also something about your link to it is broken. Not sure what's wrong but it wouldn't even quite your link without breaking my post. Weird.
You and the group of naysayers consistently repeat the same baseless claims without any knowledge of how things actually work internally. You're doing no more than needlessly speculating. Again, Yoshida himself has never given technical limitations as for why the glamour restrictions are in place. In fact, his reasoning was that it wouldn't be "immersive". That's his last given opinion on the matter, from 4 years ago.
Are you secretly working for SE or something ? How do you know what they plan on reworking ?
