You won't need multiples of the item in your inventory. The original item stays in your inventory and is not consumed so you could take an item currently placed at your house, copy it in Island Sanctuary then put it back at your house.

The furnishing interface will have a list of furnishings saved and furnishings placed. Once a furnishing has been saved to the list, you will not need to have it in your inventory to place it again. I could not tell from the translation if an Island Prism will be needed every time you want to place another item or only to save it to the list though I think it's needed to place.
Sounds good so far. Even if you can't "store" the item in the island, you don't need to hoard it anymore if you can save it there and generate an infinite number of copies. Though they mentioned it would be bound anyway, so at that point it might as well be considered stored.

Except if the player wanted to use the furnishing at a house, they would no longer have it if they discarded it after saving it on the island. It may be stored for island use but not housing use. That would be especially unfortunate in the case of seasonal event items the player has been storing. They would have to pay real money to get the item back if they wanted to use it at a house.

I think this is going to be one of those situations where players without houses are excited and happy at first but later realize they still want an actual house.
