Did you simply step inside your house or interact with it? You have to actually do something not simply walk in and walk back out. It can be as simple as move a piece of furniture around, buy something from a vendor, muck around with a summoning bell. Anything works so long as you actively did something. If you say, walked in and started crafting then it may still get flagged since you didn't directly interact with the house itself.
Regardless, you won't get it back even if what you're saying is true. SE won't evict a random person. At best, you'll get a reimbursement and be told how sorry they are. Even that would be unlikely as they'll likely say there's nothing they can do.
You don't have to interact with anything. Just stepping in dismisses the timer.

True, you only need to enter the house to cancel the demolition timer.
If you wait long enough for the demolition timer to show up in the Timers menu, when you enter the house, you will get a message in the chat log saying that the demolition process has been cancelled.
All of these people that claim they lost a house due to a bug have one thing in common, they don't actively use their house.

I am not taking chances and yes I've reset the timer on a friends FC by simply entering the house. Menders, retainer bells are quick and easy to do and I enter all my houses daily for the most part.

You can only reset the timer on an FC house if you are in the FC. And you can't reset houses you are a guest of, only owners.
