Then again, him saying that could also be misdirection or gross underestimation of player imaginations. But if what we’re doing right now has not even a single link to 7.0, then anything and everything is on the table and we may as well just throw a dart blindfolded at the map and that will be just as good of a guess.
To be fair people have been expecting Meracydia since it was one of the places mentioned by Emet at the end of EW.

From what I vaguely remember, Meracydia should be mostly wasteland with a few scattered civilizations, who are rather hostile to outsiders. The way Emet says it though it does suggest that something might be going on there. I don't know what could though.
