Funny how you need to remove "stated" to make your inane point.

I had someone in LotA the other day apologize for being new and say they had intended to watch a video but the queue had popped faster than they expected on a dps. I told them not to ruin their experience because people were impatient.I always wait for people to enjoy the CS. We all started somewhere and I hate this rush rush mentality. I just take a minute play with my cats or chat or whatever, it does not bother me to wait.
I wish people would not make people feel bad about CS watching. I remember years ago I would skip them to not hold up a group but that was a long time ago, I will watch them now. Let people enjoy the game life is short ^O^
C'mon people. Let's be good vets. Don't make new people feel bad like this.
Screen shots? I’m sure as you are an active participant in this conversation you’d see the relevance and think to save proof. Especially when using it as weightI had someone in LotA the other day apologize for being new and say they had intended to watch a video but the queue had popped faster than they expected on a dps. I mean, sure, that specific example. But there's a reason why a teacher got their class to settle down by threatening spoilers for Game of Thrones worked. And other examples of other shows/movies like Endgame. And why the meme "too soon?" is a thing. Like it or not, there is a culture where spoiling or otherwise rushing someone to "do the thing because I already did it" is considered rude. And unfortunately in some cases SE has had to enforce watching because of rudeness. This is a very silly example. The four could simply ask that fifth person to put on headphones or they could discuss it in a different room or via some private text chat. This wouldn't effect the fifth person out at all and still allow them to have their discussion. Force starting the fight while someone is in a cutscene is different. As you said, it pressures them to skip the cutscene to actually enjoy the fight for their first time. These two scenarios are non comparable imo.
Why would they need screenshots? It's not exactly rare for someone to do an auto-translate "excuse me... This is my first time" followed by others with a "/welcome New Adventurer!" or a "Standing by".

Its just a few seconds most of the time. If you cannot be patient enough to let someone new enjoy the content of the game well... I dunno what to say. Just use that time to get ready for the battle, or do some cool emotes. And if you must be angry at someone, because once again it seems negativity trumps the idea of actually be considerate to other people, then be angry more at SE for adding longer scenes into combat raids.
The inn room exists. In it, you have the ability to watch almost any cutscene in the game. Use it, and stop wasting everyone else's time. Or if you can't/won't do that, use YouTube instead.
I don't mind new people coming in and not knowing the fights and whatnot. That's to be expected -- videos can only show you so much, you don't really know until you do. I'll gladly give you as much help as I am able. Just don't make me sit on my thumbs while you watch a bunch of cutscenes.

Not entirely sure what you mean by "we didn't do this in Stormblood". We still did back then. We waited and explained to new people. We made the "tryhards" ragequit because we were helping new people.
I do not think I have actually ever seen anyone in my years of play actually complain about people watching cutscenes. The only ones I have seen comment on it in-game are people in dungeons apologising for the wait, and the party members always replying with things akin to "Its OK, enjoy"

Of course I don't trust me, I'm a jerk.
