Because complaining is easy. It doesn't require them to acknowledge the reality that a simple solution exists that only requires some minor sacrifice (having to DC travel to go play with friends you leave behind).
Or they think the complaining will do anything when people have been complaining about housing shortages for literally 2-3 expansions now and Square hasn't done anything. "This time they'll listen!"

If someone doesn't want to take the 'instant win' button for getting -any house at al regardless of quality- that is Dynamis, then it's their self-inflicted choice, whether they want to acknowledge it or not. You either work with the limitations of the system, or you hope in vain Square figures out how to overcome the immense hurdles their backend suffers from in order to implement instanced housing at some vague point years in the future...because it sure ain't happening anytime before 7.0 at the absolute earliest, and that's with extreme optimism at play.

Even if they're adamant about not changing servers, they can always make a shell FC to get a home to have fun with. (Dunno about Balmung though, I actually wouldn't be surprised if that had zero FC plots left.)

For anyone wanting certain mediums / larges...you best be transferring once 25-30 wards open up on the current Dynamis servers, or transfer when the new Dynamis servers get implemented. Those will be your only effective chance to get any medium+ until well past 7.0. Otherwise, enjoy your self inflicted 1 to 50+ odds.

You find anything to bid on this round hon? I bid on another grade 4, not that it matters. Only 4 smalls in LB this time, so everything is already 6 bids or more with the whole weekend left to go! lol

I'm both frustrated and amused that people aren't listening to the advice that will get them what they want. They bid on the best plots instead of getting a zero bid starter home first, only to end up bidding on the starter homes later with 10+ other bids on it when nothing else remains. They won't move servers when a new server is opened, instead they keep bidding on a full server for months and only move to the new server when it's getting filled up and has no mansions. They won't make an fc but complain how unfair it is other people are making fcs and getting houses.

With 4-8 characters prepped now (gear for GC turn-ins, gil for bidding, lvl for access to districts), one could transfer for free to a new server coming this summer to get any prime location large/medium fc plot they want, as well as a personal house. But they'd rather complain how the game has no content and no housing.

This is really it honestly, this is the biggest problem

1 : They dont want to move worlds
2 : They dont want bad plots
3 : They dont want to make a shell FC

Stop blaming everyone else but yourself, I got a house on Dynamis on round 1 of me transferring there, if you dont have a house by now, it's your fault, no one else's but your own.

Because it’s not one size fits all here… personally I’m trying to relocate. I have a dream plot I bid on when it’s up, but I’m not winning any of the low bid “starter homes” either. And I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen any zero bid plots! In fact, let’s just forget the whole “starter home” concept, since relocating is just about impossible now. As I’m trying to relocate my main, that’s one factor against server transfer for me. My alt doesn’t need a house, and my main can’t access it even if they got one. It’s not that I won’t make an FC, it’s that I already belong to an actual FC and I’m not leaving it to make a fake one for what amounts to a personal house and screwing over everyone else who also belongs to an actual FC that has to suffer through the personal lotto hell. As I’ve said, I won’t judge anyone desperate enough to do it, I get it, but let’s just admit it’s a selfish thing to do with the current situation.

The new servers were added so new players could make characters there, so we won’t have hour plus login queues for 7.0. A few bonuses got some people with no real roots to their server to transfer, and a bunch of people to make alts there. Expecting others that have been on their servers for years to move just to have a chance at housing is ridiculous. Again, it’s hypocritical to say they want housing to foster community, then expect leaving that community to be a “solution” to the scarcity problem they created. There should be enough plots per server and if there’s not, they need to consider other options, like instanced. And they never should have reopened Crystal!

I’m seeing the divide on this issue: some people play this game as an MMO, with other people and create community. Some people play this game like it’s a solo RPG and as long as they can get theirs, they don’t see any problem.
