Like it or not Valkyrie, gil is mandatory for many activities. Many mounts cost gil, houses cost gil, teleportation cost gil, gear costs gil, raiding costs gill, etc. There are ways around it but for most people gil is necessary. This wouldn't be the most efficient way of making it so why do you think it's a bad idea?

Right, that's why I said "There are ways around it". Teleportation can use tickets, crafting can make the food and tinctures for savage/ultimate along with gear, mounts do require gil for some but not all. Gil just makes those examples substantially easier and quicker to obtain.
