What happen to just letting people enjoy things? Or dropping a show/story if you don't like it? You don't "own" the story. We're just here to view the story the devs want to tell. It's not yours. Or mine. Or anyone's. It's the devs' story, point blank. Don't like the story? Fine, skip the cutscenes, go on with your life and play the game. I agree with the changes and controversies but disagree on the story. From a writing standpoint it's perfection (outside of the let down of Zodiark being hyped up as some ultra end game God and was barely a boss. I get the whole "he wasn't in his true form" and stuff but still, he should have been more important and harder). But the story itself from the fall of the Garlean empire to the touching upon the fact that fervent nationalism is no different than a religion and the Garleans were basically the same as everyone else. To the origin story of the world and time travel to the fermi's paradox the meaning of life and of suffering and how the conclusion is that suffering is inevitable and that you must grow strong and overcome it while accepting it's constant embrace is not simply good story writing but true to life. There are hundreds if not thousands of worlds out there that have met ruin or will meet ruin. No matter how perfect the system, government, religion, or world you attempt to create it will fall to stagnation and ruin and there will be suffering. Even if you perfect everything perfection itself is a kind of Hell. The lessons and morals taught in Endwalker and the overarching story are phenomenal and I feel go underappreciated due to the relative intelligence and literacy of the fan base namely those who didn't enjoy Endwalker.

This must be troll, there is no way on Earth that this is a serious post.

Except the majority of people online still found EW's story to be good. GoT Season 8 was universally panned but not EW so the opinions are divided amongst the community, although in this case its leaning heavily towards the "positive" side. You can try to deny this all you want but people liked the story.

Just like how I accepted the majority of people liked Shb story while I thought it was shit and preffered Stormblood. Im not gonna be an egotistical idiot and believe that just because I hated the story meant that it was bad. I just didnt personally liked it and thats fine.

People are allowed to both like and dislike things.

Totally, I think I'm mostly saying that it's not such a black and white scenario here. I'm allowed to dislike, even hate portions of the story, specific questlines, and completely skip shit. I'm also allowed to voice my opinion of them. You're allowed to respond to my voiced opinion or ignore me. We're interacting as humans do.

I enjoy MORE than I dislike, and that's why I don't skip everything in the MSQ. But the things that happened in Endwalker.. Oh boy. They're gonna need to make it up to me somehow. lol

And I can also say, even though I enjoy some of the story - I also think the way MSQ is 'driven' mechanically, as a game. Is just not that enjoyable. I'd even say it's often bad.

I think you misunderstood what the person was saying then.
It doesn't look like they're saying you can't have an opinion. What they commented on seems more to be along the lines of, stop attacking opposing opinions when it comes to the story. If someone says they liked the story, why are there so many people who try to convince them that their opinion is wrong when this is completely subjective.

Yeah maybe, it reads more as they're sick of the back and forth. Which.. Is just gonna happen when something is controversial in general. They don't have to read it if they don't want to, and they certainly don't have to join in.

I like that thing, thing gets popular, all of a sudden I don't like parts of that thing, so I say things about thing. Backlash.

This type of back and forth is expected, especially when people have been invested. If this were a game, or TV show that just kinda popped into existence and then was 'bad'. Yeah they'd just ignore it, not much of a reason to talk about it. But this is an old game, with an old story, and an old crowd. Get used to it, it's only going to get worse as we keep going on. It's even worse because it's apart of an ongoing franchise that has old history.

If people are incapable of understanding natural conflict like that, I don't really know what to say. Git gud?

Personally, I have 0 issue with back and forth when it's actually about a point in the game. But when it's just attacking people's conclusion of do I like this or not, it's not productive at all.
And that's something both sides do honestly.

I hated the ew story but I am still able to have discussions with others about what point they liked/disliked about it without getting into an argument. Just keeping it as a debate and not getting into personal attacks for no reason.

Except that it primarily is. Look around and most of the pro-EW crowd doesn't try to force their beliefs on the naysayers, they just point out that in the grand scheme of things most people think like them. They generally know how to present opinions as opinions. The same sadly can't be said for the bitter doom crew.
