I'm enjoying the content but if they said its done and not to be updated again I'd be like... "wot?". I made a thread (https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...Mammet-Qs-More) on it but I do hope they not only continue to add to the top of the tower but add to the base sections as well. The loop quickly becomes slap it the same way each day, export very specific things for gil. Both of which I was trying to address in my classic -walls of texts-... But anyway, if it's a base I'm happy and enjoy it, but I do hope for more.
One thing I would note / add is it does appear to me that while the content FFXIV makes might be new / different they usually try hard to make it specifically an island onto itself (pun not intended). There is fear that new stuff moves its way into other content, and there is particularly a lot of tower building but not too often building around the base of the towers. As a generalization it might be said a "conservative" approach. Like when Blue Mage first came out it was clearly made to not be used in current content but was hilariously weak (at release) for what it was, now they did very quickly buff it but like... it should have been obvious during design that it was like "why did we make this limited?" Blue mage at release could have very well been a normal job and not break balance lol. It can definitely mess the game up now (was actually something I was strongly calling out back then XD "pick one, make it broken or make it balanced but don't give us half n half and be limited".).
It's not entirely illogical, given a lot of rapid changes to lower parts of the 'tower' due to feedback or what have you could be frustrating to players and insulting / cost to the devs.. and they will change the base occasionally, but it's not uncommon that they focus more than usual at adding on the top of the tower rather than polishing the base until much later. Alternatively I don't envy the position of having to decide more content in a situation where there is never enough, and polishing content that could be better lol. I imagine it would be easier in a less linear environment but good luck with such a concept at this point.
This collides with just leaving a system alone sometimes that really feels like it could have been taken along with the ride and expanded on. Like the hunt UI, it's from ARR lol. If they made it actually related to the hunt system people actually engage with... could have been quite helpful and increase hunt participation more than normal.
Interestingly the Island has a fairly complicated demand system, it's just very smooth / linear in other ways-- if you had the demand level of complexity on the whole content it would probably be a huge timesink (but perhaps that'd be a good thing lol).
Anyway, I like the Island but I do want to see more at the top and base of the content (not just the top). Don't think I've spent too much time lathering on praise so maybe not exactly the audience you were talking about, and clearly not a person shy from feedback, but thought to add "I like it "but"".
