Yeah because Arise does revive with full HP/MP too so I can see this being paladin invisible level cooldown for sure.

Lose the elitist attitude. Players make mistakes, and if they make too many, they won't beat her enrage. Join a practice group and rather than be a jerk, help them instead of mocking their failures

@esuna: there is already a skill like that, it's called The Warden's Paean (Bard) with 30s duration and 45s cooldown and it's not breaking anything, even when it is (rarely) used. You mark an ally for 10 seconds, if he dies during this time he revives instantly, if he doesn't you just lot a bunch of mana for nothing. This spell was present in White Mages of most FFs, it would be interesting to have this in the game. It would work as a backup tank invulnerability, but signifcantly worse because dying is still very bad. If there's a hard mechanic going down or a large dungeon pull and your tank doesn't have invul up, it might be wise using Reraise. In a way it works just like a shield but for Raise.
What do you think? Would there be any way to exploit an ability like this? What about the same but for Esuna ("Resuna")?
@raise I don't see any use.
FFxiv has not fight like... ff12 hunts for example, where there are unavoidable deaths and you can only be ready to raise when happens.
A death in ff14 means "someone did something wrong", and we are punished for that: less hp, less damage, less MP.
for this reason (the debuff) I would never use "cast time + MP" for an autoraise, when I can use the same time to cast "something" who could avoid that death (big heal, barriers, ground damage reduction, rescue...).
I have 10,000 needles,
I'm not a weaver,
and I'm not scared to use them.

I'd be more interested in Reraise being a trait on Raise, that gives something like a 15 second buff after raising which'll auto-raise you once if you happen to get up at the wrong time and face-first into mechanics.

They should add a totem that gives reraise and Blue mages should get reraise.
IIRC in FFXI non healers only had access to a reraise item but the spell itself could only be applied on healers, so they could use the same restriction for FFXIV but have no items or even role skills.

I've seen some threads about removing Rescue so maybe replace it with this instead? Would fulfill a similar purpose and handle those instances where a dps is attempting uptime and will get out of the way in time but a healer doesn't realize and yoinks them out early.
Bard already has a "Resuna" type ability with Paean. I enjoy using it when I'm doing Rofocale or any other boss with hold mechanics. Also good for the trash in Puppet's Bunker at least the first time since the tanks never stun the Paralyze.
I think rather than something like that for a healer, though, we'd be better served with an AoE Esuna.
They can add it to fights where you cannot cast raise in combat. Meaning each player can only die once. Can be used to solve/cheese a mechanic in some fights. It should always give 25% reduced damage dealt when it activates (Weakness). This should prevent people from using it to cheese fights before BiS.
It would work. We do have them just not as a healer kit. They probably think it would break everything or else we would have it by nowYou mark an ally for 10 seconds, if he dies during this time he revives instantly, if he doesn't you just lot a bunch of mana for nothing. Maybe just reraise for healers if they dont want it n other players. Could help in situations where there is no raiser alive.

You already get a 5 second grace period if you dont press anything after raising.
There are a few funky mechanics that can still knock you back ect ect, but its 5 seconds of invulnerability.
