    They already have content requiring you to have a jobstone equipped so it's not like they have to reinvent the wheel.

    That said they won't do it anyway. Hell they won't even put ilvl requirements on MSQ trials... for some reason. Why you can enter the dark inside with a level 1 sword and no other gear, I haven't a clue. Maybe they find it funny.

    There's ilvl requirements on MSQ trials; my husband got to one of the more recent ones and is undergeared - only plays sometimes, isn't always on, etc. so getting to the one in 6.2, he was under the needed i585 by a little bit. As long as your items as a whole add up to it, or you go in as a premade group, you can hit or bypass the ilvl requirement. The requirements for trials start at Porta Decumana and it's i42 - just on par with your non-i90 job gear. The only 3 not needing an ilvl is the first 3 primal fights. It's on par with the dungeon requirements, which start at Castrum and Prae while the dungeons prior (Sastasha - Aurum Vale) have none. They were introduced in patch 2.1 for everything from before, and everything going forward, the patch notes reflect every duty's ilvl.

    There's no reason for them not to make job stones mandatory, like they do in pvp the more traction it gets, the more seriously the devs will look at it. They do, on occasion, check these forums.

    Just in case it hasn't been said yet, there is one reason why I would use the base class. If it is already stated, apologies. It involves making a custom UI with changing keybinds. We use macros that copies the ability bars from the base class onto another blank un-shared keybind bar. I placed a YouTube link from the source of where I learned about it. I didn't follow it 100%, but I still used the copy ability bar command and the /micon to change the icon appearance to whatever item icon appearance I want. It should work with job spells too if you place quote marks around the spell name.

    Other than that, I agree with the original post on the random queue requiring a job stone equipped with the proper minimum ilvls.

    Which is truly bizarre to me, since you'd at best be at i530 or thereabouts even with gear from msq quest coffers. Boosting your character from 1 to 80 you'd still be in the Cryptlurker gear from the job boost too, so you'd think they'd... not have that, but it is pretty weird.

    This is definitely an outlier thing, so I don't mind not having it auto-equipped, since this is one of those things that could be affected, though I'm sure if it was, for some reason, there'd be a workaround out pretty quickly.

    in Tower At Paradigm's Breach? Not cool. What was even worse was all the "get over its". It took us 20 minutes to get through the first two bosses and I bounced after the second. Please, please, make job crystals mandatory for anything above msq lv31.

    It's fine if they want to do their own Jobless run but extremely uncool they dragged in you and 16 others into their shenanigans.

    i agree... i would say from stone vigil on forward though. so there is a bit of a leeway to do jobquests. the difference between class and job isnt as big between 30 and 40 as later so it should be fine.
    and since overlevelling is a thing it might be nice for new players to at least have the optional dungeons 35 and 38 to do... maybe even before they reach the msq required to to jobquests xD

    Honestly:

    1) you just don’t gain any xp past 30 until you unlock the job.
    2) no more job crystals; once you complete the job unlock, it simply replaces the old class entirely. No actual Crystal items. Like when you job switch to DRK, there just is no base class anymore.

    Honestly it should have been done several expansions ago since all new classes do not have this problem. I swear if "Spaghetti Code" is the reason for it...then perhaps it's time to burn the game again until they learn to write their own code.
