I don't know why they decided to invest into NFTs instead of ML models like OpenAI and GPT-4.
Procedurally generated content would fix a lot of things here.

Procedural generation for a video game would likely not be primarily ML-based in this decade. The tech isn't there.

Some parts may be ML-based using generative models like art assets, voice lines etc. But for the most part it would still be human work. For this decade we might mostly see more voiced dialogues. If FF14 survives to 2030 it might be a fully voiced MMO by then.
