I honestly do think that with the current success of the casual mode and the population behind, they could really add a second mode "team casual" where you can either get premades of 5, or premade of 2 + premade of 3 in each team just to try it out (and maybe even premade of 4 + a solo player...). The team aspect in almost any multiplayer game is huge, usually even bigger than the solo modes. People love playing with friends and a lot of players actually get a lot less anxiety out of this as well.
Ranked? Well... we just don't have the community for it I guess. Although I think one of the big thing they could do is automated open tournaments where you can register your ranked team, that happen maybe once a month or something. I bet you'd get participation for those. What's hard to keep filled constantly is a mode that plays 24/24. It's probably a lot easier to fill a mode that's played only once in a full moon as a bigger event.
Did you say match rigging and cheating? Blerg.
As someone who is both on Primal and would play ranked if it had a population, that’s a lie. I’ll roll in at 11pm EST, and queues are several minutes if you’re lucky. Most nights it’s the 30+ min. estimate. At higher ranks, unless you are getting to Plat. on day one of the season, you’ll never see a match pop as anyone who gets to Crystal just stops playing.
WoW does that with it's regular BGs that aren't more than 10 or so players. If you queue with multiple people the game tries to match you up against other premade teams on the opposing side. They do allow you to get placed against premades solo though, so it can also mega suck.I honestly do think that with the current success of the casual mode and the population behind, they could really add a second mode "team casual" where you can either get premades of 5, or premade of 2 + premade of 3 in each team just to try it out (and maybe even premade of 4 + a solo player...).

I know adding group queues of any kind for CC would at the very least boost the player population for the game a lot. I know plenty of people who would be interested in playing CC if they could least play with their friends at all. Even if it's just adding duo/trio queues and not full parties I can guarantee you a lot more people would be interested in the mode. It just makes sense that a multiplayer game would feel better to play when you are able to play with your friends.
