No one should be losing their house for taking a month off if they were actively using their house before their break and actively using it once they return.

So go ahead and take that month off the treadwheel. You're fine - if you're using your house when you're on it.

I'll still be over in the Housing subforum advocating for a better instanced housing system where demolition wouldn't be necessary. I wouldn't call this housing system horrible (I've experienced worse) but it is subpar compared to what some other MMOs have done.

Edited to add: I think EU auto-demo is on now? I forgot, they keep going back and forth about it.
Because it is not their idea of housing.
Housing was supposed to be "I'm part of a group, the house is our headquarter" and the starting prices were so high that only an active group of players could afford to buy an house (no matter if we had money from 1.0, 300m in 2.1 was an huge sum).
Everyone can change his idea, SE has changed (in part) his idea about what housing is in FFXIV, but the core remains: an aggregation tool for groups of players with "something" in common (friendship, RPG, chatting...).

EU auto demo is off, for the Turkey earthquake.

300M you say? Housing permits used to cost ten times as much?

Yes houses were a lot more reasonable priced back in 2.1 when the housing system first was introduced. And it was for FCs only. Prices were different for each server and got up to 625 mio for a large on some legacy servers.

However, there also was a system in place which reduced the price over time.

You can see the prices here in the 2.1 patch notes, you have to scroll a bit: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...7af43f3c43828a

It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
