How exactly does this work from dungeon to dungeon? I like the idea but could you give an example?
If you are asking about the line of sight specifically, a couple examples are
Tam tara normal, when you run by the spider things, yarzon or something after the 2nd boss there are 2 separated ranged. Aggro them, run into next room that has the next boss gate and turn the corner. This brings the ranged through the doorway, together with everything else.
Dzmael, you pull the entire first area to the end, and reaching the last purple area, you tuck in the corner at the shelves or book case or whatever it is.
Not every dungeon requires this, but the execution is the same. Find a corner, go around it and hug it
Good question why would anyone ask these questions or care to know about this concerning people in a dungeon with randoms? If someone asked this in a random dungeon I’d think they are some weird woke person and kick them. No one cares about your beliefs. And anyone asking ages just sounds like a predator. No thanks. Go be weird elsewhere.Maybe I, being a tank, will perceive this behavior of aggro mobs as toxic before I approach them at an adequate distance? About the children. Do you know the age of the tank that is with you in the dungeon? What is the gender of the person who entered?
Why do I even ask these questions )
All in all it doesn’t matter. If the team wants to w2w you w2w. Its what the party wants not some egotistical tank.

If it happens by accident sure. If its on purpose.... queue as a tank then.
Case in point, just recently I did Vanapanti on my alt. The tank went ahead and did the first double pull but died. I held on with just Bloodbath and Second Wind (Dragoon) for the entire duration of the former's CD. The healer was a bit panicked but if they spot healed me a couple times, I'd have lived. And that was a big pull. A single pack? Slap Kardia on me and I'd be just as effective as the tank.
There is zero reason to small pull nowadays. I can appreciate less experienced tanks going for the super pulls (or just not knowing about them) but double pulling should and is standard for a reason.

Another such example is Satasha. The final room before the boss specifically. You can't LoS them but you can herd them in such a way.If you are asking about the line of sight specifically, a couple examples are

From the start of the room to the end there is...I think 3 mob sets mandatory with 2 ranged mixed into the the mobs of melee. Run through the mobs as you collect them and then run straight back to the ranged.
At that point the ranged will have stacked and if you stand in them the mobs of melee will gather at the same point.
This pretty much. As a general rule, in lower content only tanks and healers can pull (expecting the healers can manage the healing). DPSs have no business pulling mobs there, and in most cases is disrespectful of the entire party.
If you want speedrun your leveling roulette as a DPS, then I suggest you play other job.
Who made this rule? Is it official? In the ToS? On the duty information screen or anywhere at all? This pretty much. So not a rule then. In fact, the lower the content, the less stuff hurts. Makes it easier to keep everyone else alive
Is common courtesy for new players aka sprouts. You dont know if the tank and /or healer can manage tanking/healing many waves of mobs in a certain dungeon. For example dungeons like the Stone Vigil or Aurum Vale can be rough with many mobs together, depending how experienced is your party. It dont helps some DPSs dont have AoE attacks available in some of these dungeons, so things dont die fast either.
Far easier is be nice and let tank and occasional healer do the pull. Or be nicer and teach them in chat the basics of wall to wall. Comunication is key.
